I'm also reading a lot of DC comics because of the Infinite Crisis crossover event. I no longer read Marvel since they've absolutely destroyed any feeling of continuity they once had.

It's funny; even though I think DC has a much much MUCH better handle on their own universe and continuity and whatnot, the only titles I'm buying right now are Marvel ones (Thing, X-Factor, and the X-Statix miniseries) except for Infinite Crisis itself.
Like, Marvel needs to stop with the giant crossovers because they usually look stupid and Civil War is no exception.

The Crisis on Infinite Earths was an event in DC Comics where they destroyed their multi-verse and created a single universe in an effort to reboot all of their characters whom most have had nearly a century of confusing history. The story involved every hero and villain from countless Earths uniting to battle an epic foe. It ended with Superman of Earth 2 (the Superman from the golden age of comics) being one of only 4 survivors of the multi-verse.
Infinity Crisis involves the return of the Crisis survivors who wish to re-establish the multi-verse in order to find a perfect Earth and establish it as the only Earth. Superman of Earth 2 was dooped into this plan when he was promised that they could find a cure for Lois of Earth 2 (another survivor) who had become ill. Lois soon died and Superman of Earth 2 went ape shit.

It is an event where they combined all the then existing DC Universes into the main universe we read today.

If only the Superman of Earth 2 survived, then whats the other Superman doing alive? I didn't read the whole comic, just skimmed throught some parts, but it seemed confusing~

In other words Mystique will now be his father and Destiny his mother.

No, it was more or less a mercy kill since Kon-El was more of a cheap stereotype of 90's teen angst than an actual character. They've made decent attempts to make him more timeless and less dated, but at the end of the day everyone just thinks of him as a stereotypical angsty rebellious teenaged clone of a GOOD character.
Besides, Robin's trying to ressurect him anyway.
EDIT: I'm grateful that he wasn't created in the modern day, then we would have an emo Superboy on our comic book pages.

And as for the Nightcrawler thing, that is made of win and good. The sooner "The Draco" is retconned until the break of dawn the better.

The scarab is a sentient mystical creature that grants Jaime various powers that are mostly derived from the high tech suit it can wrap around Jaime when he's in trouble.
The most interesting aspect so far is that the scarab is violently affraid of Green Lanterns. Given the Guardians dark history with magic it's behavior can be understandable. Although the scarab allowed Jaime to work along side the Green Lanterns in order to take out Brother Eye, it teleported him far away as soon as the battle had ended. If cornered the scarab will actually make Jaime fight a Green Lantern.
I'm also really digging the new Aquaman.

He use to be one of my favorites before various writers made him so complicated that he wasn't interesting anymore. The new Aquaman shares a similar origin to the original and is delightfully being given an uncomplicated magic involved story. As for the fate of the old Aquaman, well one of the new characters has mentioned that he has been twisted into some kind of evil creature.
Here is a pic of the new Aquaman, Arthur Joseph Curry...

This Aquaman is a human whose father is a famous ocean biologist. When Arthur was born three months prematurely his father was forced to give him an experimental mutagenetic serum to save his sons life. His mother died during childbirth and Arthur has spent his entire life in a tank at his father's research facility. While awaiting to be transported to Miami, Arthur's tank is ruptured by a storm and he is washed out to sea where he is telepathically greeted by a Dweller of the Depth, a creature similar to a human but with tentacles instead of hair. This Dweller asks Arthur to work along side of King Shark and gives him an Aquaman costume and tells Arthur that he believes him to be the true Aquaman, reciting a prophecy and alerting him to the fact that the previous Aquaman had vanished. While Arthur is away on his second mission in the sea, the Dweller is seen writing in a diary... with a hand made of water.
