Splitting large video files ...into several smaller video files?

Is there a program that would allow me to take a large video file and split it up into several smaller video files that is available for free on the internet?

I use Windows Movie Maker, but I think it only exports .wmv files. It's free with Windows XP, however.

um, it only imports wmv's and only exports them too.

but it's kinda retarded.

however, it is free.

You can also use a fucking converter for anything else. Sure, they aren't free, but they come with free trials. There ya' go.
