SO.

A shit load of us just got bann'd from an adult website -has gay porn- because we like to be adults and talk about adult things.

But. Here's the problem with the BAAAAAAAAAW CORNER AKA ShoutBox.

Everyone but a handful of us get OMFGBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW if you bring reality or hit them with honesty.

SO. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW gets heard by the WAAAAHMBulance, AKA mods.

And. The Honest Handful gets the BAN hammer. I got it due to ALLCAPSALLCAPSALLCAPS.

For. No. Reason.

So. Now. The owner / creater of the site is BAHLEEETING the SB due to people being MEAN to each other on there.

Haha.

PLZ GUIZ. ONLE SRS ANSRS. I CRAI IF U DUN. I BAN U FOR ROOD.

I CRAI IF NAWT. OR IF U YELL AT ME.

You wouldn't had you seen it in context. Allcaps to further a point. That the site wasn't the same as it used to be, wasn't serving it's purpose any longer but instead just being ridiculous. And this was for maybe 30 seconds of using allcaps on the shoutbox, not a thread, and the guy /bans.

I honestly don't think you would say that if you had seen what actually happened.

if I was a mod and somebody was talking in all caps regardless of the situation I would most likely ban. there isn't any real need to just talk in allcaps. it really depends how spitefull I feel at the time.

According to a pm Dai sent Schiz after it all (I think it was afterwards anyway) the SB bans will be lifted. not sure about my permaban from the site for being fucking rude but we'll see. And Candie's use of multiple accounts may keep her out of action too. It was ridiculous though

Well that's your opinion. I consider it pretty ridiculous and especially a bloody permaban. And that's in a place where the rules aren't usually enforced very hard due to it being just about having fun, or it was supposed to be about that.

Misunderstandings originally. Mods acting like retarded babies eventually. not all of them, I don't think aarin herself was too unreasonable from what I could see but Daikun...

It is. And while rules may not generally be enforced its not unreasonable to start enforcing them at anytime <.<

plus its the intratubes. there are hundreds of thousands of other websites, being banned from one isn't that horrible. (or you can just make a new account >.>)

Well, say I was banned from here, and let's say that I'm talking about months ago when this place was actually relatively active, I wouldn't have been just like 'oh well, I can always go to the imdb message boards or gaia or something'. There are hundreds of thousands of websites but far fewer that are actually good and enjoyable places that some people can spend years among years on (and I do mean years, the site undid years of contribution from some members that night). Also, though it's beside the point really, new accounts from the same user get you a permaban there. As well as that there was no defined 'rule' about using allcaps once in a period of like two years leading to a ban. No rule about allcaps at all no less.

But none of this matters anyway.

nobody has to know that the new account is you >.>

and if I was banned from AE Id be irritated, yes, but Id move on then, find some other community to contribute to while still keeping in touch with you guys through other means since I actually do have those means. (either that or I could just pummel Elite the next time I saw him)

They were checking IPs :\

But anyway, instead of finding another community etc. we've set up our own other forum :P

But ah well, it's done now. And I think this'll be better with the new forum anyway.

maintaining a forum takes an awful lot of hard work. AE may not look like much but there's a shit ton of work that went into it over the past 4 years.

but i wish you guys all the luck.

also i do tend to agree that writing in all caps instead of just using it to emphasis a few words can be annoying to read. however no one deserves a perma ban for it.

like when you need to emphasize RAGE at PEOPLE and THINGS
To do the right thing you sometimes have to leave the things you love behind.

So it's an automatic assumption then that no-one realises that running a forum is going to be a lot of hard work before they actually give it a go?

An incorrect one I might add.
