darkon
Okay, here's the deal. If school came at the end of the day instead of the start we would all be saved. First off, we wouldn't feel pressure to get our work done at night. We'd wake up presumably around 11pm (Assuming you sleep like 3-11 or something) and have a good 8 hours or so to kill before school. 2-3 hours probably, at most, would go to school since we'd be energized and full of happiness. Then we go to school, not tired, and don't sleep in class. We pay attention and learn more. Plus, doing our homework before school will help us refresh ourselves and remember what we learned. And not to mention everyone will have a good 4-5 hours to play and do awesome things. Plus. It'll fulfill everyone's secret dream of being able to say at 5pm "Dude, it's so late." This is going to be the greatest revolution ever. And I'm the mastermind. Link to comment
darkon
keep dreaming I'm not saying move time of school. Move time of your sleep. Civil disobedience, or something like that, but this isn't breaking any laws. Link to comment
margot
oh okay but what are you going to do from 11 pm to 6 am when everyone else is sleeping. Link to comment
darkon
oh okay but what are you going to do from 11 pm to 6 am when everyone else is sleeping. I'm not going to be the only person doing this. Hence why it's a revolution. Link to comment
Venom112
oh okay but what are you going to do from 11 pm to 6 am when everyone else is sleeping. And because this belief has led to the creation and enforcement of several rules/laws that are wholly stupid, I must point out this fact. 1/5 of Americans work at night. Also, consider the congregations of teenagers. Which leads to why it wouldn't work. If children started staying out of the view of non-peers more than they already are, how would parents and the elderly keep control? Anyway, I tried such a lifestyle inadvertantly for numerous sporadic weeks, and I will tell you from my experience that I got more work done. You have to worry more about time limits than you being tired, huzzah! Link to comment
Ceraziefish
A couple of years ago I shifted around my schedule so I didn't have to get to school until one. It was sweet. I could get up and watch a movie before school and still get there early. The reason why I stay up late is because all my friends do and my parents don't. Really the operative thing here is avoiding my parents. I am all in favor of any plan that leads to me avoiding my parents. Link to comment
margot
^ awww why no parents? Link to comment
Ceraziefish
Because they don't understand that all I want to do with my life is listen to rock and roll and ride around my motorcycle. And do drugs. Seriously, though, they both have English degrees and a gift for the sarcastic. The average conversation lasts about thirty seconds before somebody gets offended. Link to comment

thebornotaku
i am sorry lindsay, but i am not going to try. i just walked downstairs. my mom had baked some brownies, and i asked if they were ready yet, then she asked me if i would change the wiper blades on her truck (it's in a small carport so it would be a tight fit, it's very cold outside, wet, and almost 10pm) and i kind of sighed, then she snapped at me like "Nevermind!" and i was like "What did i do?" and she was all like "i'm not going to accept attitude. go do your thing." and i am all pressing on her to tell me what i did and she's just like "go do your thing" so i am like "whatever" and now i am writing this post. =/ Link to comment

Replace "a period of a few months" with " my high school career" and "then we got over our troubles" with "then shit escalated like all those scientists in the Cold War predicted would happen between the US and the USSR." Ceraziefish
Yep. Basically the main reason I'm applying for college at this point because that way they'll pay for me to move out. Link to comment

Do you both nuked the shit out of each other? It seems so weird for you to not like interacting with your parents, as I LOOOOOOVE the exchanges I have with your dad, and your mom has always seemed fairly amiable. I guess they just don't do that type of thing when I'm around. Link to comment
Svenska Aeroplan
Back on topic: I go to school from 6-11. It would be awesome if I didn't have to get up at 4AM to go to work. It sure does rock on days when I don't have to work. Link to comment

GummyBearOfDoom
I remember Scott actually did try the sleep revolution briefly in our senior year of HS 2005-2006. I vaguely remember him always being tired. Link to comment
Ceraziefish
Death to my former self, death to the embarSsment I think we've all had weird sleep schedules at some point. I worked the night shift for awhile shit is weird. It's cool that you don't really have to deal with traffic though Link to comment
