Also it's an extremely simple system, once you become a staff member you get permission to start topics at the bottom of the forum in your job section, you start a topic like usual posting for example 'Video Game Review - MGS3' then your whole review in the post, and it automatically forwards it to the front of the mainsite news section.

Alright... I just had 2+ pages with full details about reviewing written and accidently x'ed out. so I'm gonna make this short and give all in detail information to those who get the job

Video game news: 1 person needed

Anime news: 1 person needed

music news: 1 person needed

on main site, you'll post news articles relating to your topic. When a news article is globally released you must jump on this and post an article here on AE including images and citing sources you got information from.

all applicants need to understand they must do news articles for theyre position a couple times a day, un interesting / non important topics do not need to be posted...

Video Game reviews: 3-4 people needed

Anime Revies: 2-3 people needed

Music Reviews: 2-3 people needed

on main site, you will review newly released video game / anime / music, in detail with all proper spelling and punctuation (lawl spell check). Video Game reviews needing to be a few detailed pages, Anime Reviews a few detailed pages, while Music reviews you are able to get away with one, but type as much as you like.

all applicants need to understand and be able to play newly released games, listen to newly released or leaked music, and watch newly released or fansubbed anime and review it in detail within decent time.

- Before I had like 3 paragraphs in detail of what you'll be doing at each position and how we're doingit, but now im pissed for loosing it all so specifics will be given to you at time of position approval.

Experiance in area: Been listening to music seriously for about 7 years. I also wrote for the school newspaper

Why this interests you: I love journalism. Seriously.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: Ummm... probably. When school is in session I might not be available every day, but I'll try and make time to have reviews in as quick as I can.

Anything else we should consider or read about you: Well, if you want to have someone to review movies I could do that. But don't add a movie section unless you really want to.

Experiance in area: I worked on the opinion section of my high school’s newspaper for two years, and I have watched a LOT of anime.

Why this interests you: Because I love anime, and writing. And the internet.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: Yes, very much so, though since I have a job this summer I won’t be available as consistently as I am now. However I will be able to write at least one item a day.

Anything else we should consider or read about you: I know we’ve had our disagreements in the past, but I think I’m one of the right people for this job. I have a great passion for anime and am an internet addict. Thus this job seems to be a good fit for me. Not to mention, I'm obsessive about spelling and grammar, so...

Position applying for: Movie Reviews (yes, I realize this isn't there, just a suggestion)

Experiance in area: I watch movies. a lot.

Why this interests you: I need something to occupy my time this summer, I've wanted to be a part of this site for a while

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: I'm not planning on working this summer, so yes. Once school starts this fall, things may be more infrequent, but I will do my best.

Anything else we should consider or read about you: bigger grammar nazi than SD. sexy as hell. reliable and dependable. I look at both sides of an issue. If movie reviews are added, I'd try to review both old and new releases.

Experiance in area:

Experience with music? Well, I have almost 20gb to start, plus i play the bass. By the way, it's spelled "Experience".

Experience with games? I own a few. Mostly, i play WoW, but i also play BF1942, UT2k4, and BF2. My game collection grows and expands ever so slightly every few months, mostly with FPSes.

Why this interests you:

I am very interested in music, and also like to give my honest opinion.

I am also interested in games, and would also like to give my opinion.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day:

On most days, yes. However, after i review what i currently have (which is mosly old anyways), then i will do alot less, as i cannot legally acquire new music/games often.

Anything else we should consider or read about you:

I've been with this group of people since 2001 at least, and i think that i have a well established presence on the forum. Also, if you assign Genres, i can do Modern rock/alternative, Techno, and Metal(soon anyways, i need to acquire more).

BTW: I'm otaku if you can't tell.

Experience in area: about 8 years choral training, knowlege of aesthetic philosophy, and I listen to music a lot.

Why this interests you: The more writting I can do, the better.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: Yes. Until college starts, but then I'll still be available a good amount of the time working on it.

Anything else we should consider or read about you: I'm highly attuned to the emotional aspect of music (which people tend to disregard in favor of the technical). I kick ass at literary analyisis (which applies to lyrics).

I think it's also important to mention that my musical taste doesn't focus around metal (so if you want metal reviews, I'm not your man)

Position Applying For: Anime Reviews

Experience in this area:

Minor reviews for some defunct sites, local papers, our own (now dead) review thread, and I'm our anime mod (Perhaps mod positions will take on meaning with the site growing!).

Why this interests you:

I watch a decent amount of anime and wouldn't mind having an open outlet for my thoughts on what I'm watching. I find myself posting less and less in the anime area just because long reviews are often left to die. I also think it would be an excellent opportunity to expand on what I normally watch and find some new loves.

Would you be available for this position a good portion of the day:

I work 9am - 5pm from now on. Only Monday through Friday, and very, very rarely will I work late. So I have lots of free time.

Other Stuff:

Will we have server side storage for video clips/screen caps? Also, lets see some tech reviews!

I'd love to apply for a position and help out AE... But, the problem is, I rarely get new stuff. I don't get new video games hardly ever (there's too many old ones that I want to play), I'm not that interested in most new music, and I don't watch anime. Also, there's people who are much more knowledgable about all these things than I am.

Only thing I'd really be good for would be a tabletop roleplaying reviewer dude. And it doesn't seem like you're so interested in that.

Position applying for: Videogame News, music reviews

Experiance in area: In Video Games I am always reading deveolpment releases and have been a video game sorts since I was 6 with my nintendo. I am unbias in the console wars and look for quality in the game or idea. I have wrote a few reviews and opinions, but am looking to expand.

In Music I have a wide range of genres , and am always looking to do album / artist reviews. I keep up on the up and commings and am always listening to music. I listen to music about as much as "Samurai Drifter" watches movies.

Position applying for: Vidya James Review

Experiance in area: Been playing games for awhile now. I haven't been into games recently (last six months or so) for whatever reason. But I try to keep up with games a little, and I do play games occasionally. Also I have a vast knowledge of writing (due to my high school's nonstandard curriculum I've taken the equivalent of 8 years of writing courses). I've written a few reviews in the past, nothing that I'm proud of, but I know about it.

Why this interests you: AE is a triply-awesome community and I would like to help make it a powerful force on the internet.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: I post most every day. This summer I will have more free time. Also I suspect when I go to college I will start playing more games but maybe having less free time.

Position applying for: Music Reviews

Experience in area: I wrote for a very small local-scene fanzine back in the day. I've also written several reviews for this site, none of which ever got anywhere. I'm also a well-established critic on music, among other things, on this site. My CD collection is also bigger than yours, and probably more diverse as well.

Why this interests you: Because it's music, and music is fucking awesome.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: I have time to devote to reviews, especially during the summertime lull between semesters.

Anything else we should consider or read about you: I don't tow the party-line when it comes to music and opinions. When I write a review, it's honest and not dictated by popularity or status of the band. Also, I'm not confined to one genre of music. If you need a pop album reviewed, I can do it and not be hindered by the lack of double-bass and cowbell. The only exception is J-Pop and J-Rock, but there are other people more interested and qualified for those reviews when needed. Other than that, I'm awesome and I can tell you about it in great length if need be.

Experiance in area: Avid amature music historian who has been seriously listening to music for the last decade. Have played guitar for the past 6 years as well as some bass guitar so I've developed an ear for technically good music. My musical tastes are also extreamely broad ranging from Pop to rock to country to classical to jazz to metal and beyond.

Why this interests you: I love music in (almost) all forms

Anything else we should consider or read about you: As far as music news goes I frequent a number of different sites that deal with the news within the music industry.

Position applying for: Movie Review section : We should have one already

Experiance in area: ON average in theaters I see 1-2 movies a week. I see almost every academy award winning and nominated film. My sisters an actor, so i've see alot of movies with her and usually have a good sense when something will be good or not.

Why this interests you: Movie going is a huge hobby of mine me and my family own well over 200-300 DVD's.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: I have absoulutley no life so yes

Anything else we should consider or read about you: Ask around about how much I know or see movies. Wind you can ask your brother and any of my other friends.

Position applying for: Weather Review for the United States

Experiance in area: I have a lot of experience with the weather. I have lived in both the Midwest and New England, and experienced the weather in both. Ever since I was six years old the weather section was my favorite part of the newspaper, and I know all about dew point and nautical terms for the wind. In freshman year I completed "Advanced Earth Science" with an A- and meteorology was my second favorite unit (to geology but I really like both).

Why this interests you: Weather is fantastic! Weather is one of the great definer things of landscape. I'm also interested in different parts of America, so therefore I'm very willing to work in a balanced review of all regions. I think it'll be very interesting to read a weather review even if you've experienced the weather already, just as reading a movie review is more interesting if you've seen the movie.

Will you be availible for your position for a good portion of the day: Yes, I'm willing to work 2-3 hours a week on a weekly weather review.

Anything else we should consider or read about you: For a while I had a Weekly Weather Review before the forum crash! I'd love to start it again. I would work images into my reviews (temperature maps, pictures of especially affected areas etc.) I think it would also be fun to do a weekly American travel spotlight, of course including the weather there in provided background information.
