I like DC's new approach to films based on their characters. Their goal is to produce one critically and financially successful film a year so that they don't over saturate the market or deplete their franchises. The current schedule is:

Batman Begins 2 (2007)

Wonder Woman (2008)

Superman Returns 2 (2009)

Shazam (TBA)

Green Lantern (in-talks)

hate to be pessimistic, but i've got a creeping feeling most of these Marvel movies will suck

The only ones guaranteed not to suck are the ones directed by Sam Raimi. Also, a Thor movie just seems like a really bad idea. I don't think he can be sold to the mainstream movie audience without major changes to the character occuring.

haha wtfever Arsinol..DC got their asses in gear when they saw that Marvel was kicking ass in the movie business..but I agree to a point that some of those movies will suck, but I really wanna see The Punisher 2..Jigsaw is gonna be in it..and its non other then Howard Saints son..that oughta be interesting

Well, DC does have an advantage in keeping the amount of films based on their characters to just the minimum. They're not a separate company but part of one of the largest media conglomerates in Time-Warner. Marvel on the other hand relies on supplementing their comic book sales with revenues from film and television projects. Really, the way the system work, the films may bomb in the US, but it'll make Marvel quite abit of profit overseas and in DVD sales.
