Kreutz
Is anyone still into GW? I've pretty much finished the PvE game, and I'm working on my PvP game now. My characters are: Kernby of Kreutz: W/E, still whiping characters half his age. I still use the Knockdown/Aftershock combo on this one, even though the new craze is the Tiger's Fury/Knockdown build. This character also doubles as a storage shed for all of my crap I can't sell. Zurvan Eagleheart: Mo/R, has evolved into an uber-monk. When I run healing, I can support an entire group by myself without too many energy problems. When I run protection, I can carry 8 enchantments so long as I don't get interrupted. I also have a pet build involving my pet spider and both healing and prot, but I don't get many chances to use it. Edenia Nihilus: N/Me or N/Mo. I like using my blood draining/group supporting build on this one. I also use minions, but they kinda suck in PvP. I'm really short on skill points for this character on account of no one using it in groups. Mage Henchnan (PvP): Build varies, right now I'm using a Me/N so I don't mess up my PvE necro. Caster shutdown is really fun to use, but I may as well be wearing nothing for armor. I also use this character for an air spiker and a smite monk. Right now my guild is the Kansas City Hotsteppers (PA guild). I was in a top-200 guild for a little while, but I left because they refused to let me GvG or go on quests with them. Kinda useless. darkon
I played GW, as most are aware, and pwned it up big time. I lost interest around the summer when all the WoW kids decided to further cement proof that they have no lives/friends by showing up and going "LOL GUILD WARS IS GAY! PLAY WOW!" and infesting every aspect of the game. That and the fact that it received a large number of players who lacked IQ, as every MMO eventually does. Link to comment

I thought you dropped out before that. Anyways, all the WoW kids gave up and now it's just build elitists and sellbots. Hardly anybody does the missions anymore, aside from the RoF. It's all PvP until the expansion. Tried to be an MMO / Butt Secks - (Halo 2 x Pirates! The MMO) + Starwars Galaxies = ...I don't really know where to go from here, basically I'm trying to say that Guild Wars is retarded. Go collect Orc Tampons and Enchanted Socks, why don't you? Keep it in your own thread. Link to comment

Arcane
I quit GW back in summer. Well I only really played it for like a month. Now that I'm done with WoW (got tired of collecting Orc Tampons), I might play it a bit over winter break if I get bored. I kinda miss my hot Emo chick. Link to comment
David
I'm about done with PvE, don't feel the need to rack up the money for sup vig/absorp or fissure armor though. Just trying out things in PvP now. Conjure/Preps with Dual/Oath Shot, pure Divine Favor, etc. Link to comment
Kreutz
I have absolutely no ambition to buy any of the fissure armor, which is to say I'm not interested in buying gold for a game which isn't currency-driven. That's one of the things I prefer about GW, that it's more about experience and strategy than what items you have. I'm going to wait to pass judgement on the expansion until more info is available. So far all we know is that there will be assassins (OMG rouge) and that it will be at least as long as the base game. I really, really hope they do something about character customization beyond armor and dye. Link to comment

Beating someone's ass was all a measure of your own personal skill and tactics instead of a measure of how many hours you can spend farming for uber gear. Link to comment

They mentioned a while back on an FF that there would be items to customize your hair/face/eyes and such in the future. Uber gear = two second PvP duels (it's not uber if it doesn't make you invincible or do ridiculously stupid amounts of damage) = Diablo II/gankfest pvp Link to comment
Arcane
But I like Uber gear I prefer competition to be based off of personal skill and intelligence as opposed to a person's wealth or free time. Link to comment
darkon
Haha you called Guild Wars an MMO. And WoW doesn't have an ending, so that makes it twice as cool since new cintent is always being added in. Last I checked there has been a new level or two added since I left GW among a plethora of other things. And, last I checked. Guild Wars is Massively Multiplayer Online. And it also is a Role Playing Game. YOU GOT DARKOWNED! *Cue Kreutz with the image* Link to comment

David
I don't know if Maxor's just asking to be made fun of or not D: Wow, really? Ever since I bought it I haven't slept! Hey!, This is my life...for the past 2 months... Though either way I'd rather not even bother trying. Are there any other skills to the Divine Spirit + Glyph of Renewal + Blessed Spirit + 20% enchanting combo? I've heard people say they can constantly run Div Spirit, but with just those, you could keep Div Spirit going for about 42 seconds, 18 seconds shy of the cooldown. Link to comment

I've heard people say they can constantly run Div Spirit, but with just those, you could keep Div Spirit going for about 42 seconds, 18 seconds shy of the cooldown. I've never really tried that build, but I imagine you would need something besides Blessed Signet to keep your energy up, unless you're maintaining enchantments as well. I try to keep my monk build as self-enchantment-free as possible, since mesmers and necros usually assume you're using Divine Boon or Vital Blessing on yourself and strip accordingly. I still use VB or Mending just in case, though. Link to comment
David
Well if you were able to keep Divine Spirit going somehow, energy isn't much of a problem, since you're regening 1 energy a sec and only using 2 energy every 3 seconds to cast Heal Touch and Orison of Healing. That's all Div Spiriters do, they just whore out on Orison and Heal Touch and other 5 energy spells, completely ignoring other valuable spells like Heal Other and Heal Seed. I almost never do maintain enchantments with my Monk, enchantment strippers don't see a maintained enchantment and assume I don't use any good ones, and then they end up stripping Aegises instead of Healing Seed or Mark Protection. Here's what I usually do: Mo/W, 12+3 Div Favor, 10+1 Healing, 8+1 Protection Holy Staff with reduced recharge on Prot Prayers (20%), Health +30 and Enchanting +20% Signet of Devotion, Healing Touch, Healing Seed, Divine Healing, Mark of Protection, Heal Other, Aegis, Res Signet Keep running Aegis if there are enough W/Rs to make it worth it, use Signet of Devotion to heal others (or self if target, or backfired), Heal Touch for self, Healing Seed to fight off AoEs, Smiters, or just to help a Life Bonding W/Mo or the opponent's target, Divine Healing and Heal Other for emergencies, Mark of Protection when low on life (use earlier when there are enchantment strippers), and then the typical Res Signet. Kreutz
Here are my two monk builds: Healing Build (PvP, changes for PvE) 14 Healing Prayers, 10 Protection Prayers, 15 Divine Favor Word of Healing - Cornerstone of this build, cheap effective healing Heal Other - Used when WoH is recharging Divine Healing - Used for self-healing and healing bombs Healing Breeze - Used to temporarily maintain health against conditions or hexes, occasionally self-healing Aegis - Self-explanitory Vital Blessing or Mending - Used to safeguard the monk against direct attacks by warriors Mend Condition - Mends conditions Remove Hex - Removes...hexes Protection Build 5 Healing Prayers, 16 Protection Prayers, 15 Divine Favor Blessed Signet - Spammed to keep enchantments running Signet of Devotion - Light healing for when the healing monk is busy/dead Divine Healing - Used for self-healing and healing bombs Restore Life - Just in case the rest of the party is dead Mark of Protection/Shield of Regeneration/Spellbreaker - Whichever one the situation requires Aegis - Self-explanitory Vital Blessing or Mending - Used to buffer the effects of Life Bond on the monk Life Bond - Automatic saving roll for the rest of the party I use the Yakslapper for both builds (Energy +15, quick Deep Wound recovery, 20% better Prot skill recharge, enchantments last 20% longer). I also use the design armor (+17 energy) and Healing/Protection and Divine Favor Superior runes. I use a separate set of armor for the two builds so I'm not carrying three superior runes at a time, and as a helpful reminder to myself of which build I used last. Link to comment
