Nega-Brent
I want to see it, and I want to see it yesterday. Jack Nicholson said his role in this film is the most evil and unforgiving man he's ever played. Nuff said as far I am concerned. Link to comment
darkon
Hopefully the Academy finally gives Scorsese something for this. I can't wait in any case. Link to comment
Depression
Been waiting since it was in pre-production. The time is now. Link to comment
The Masked Men
Been waiting since it was in pre-production. The time is now. Word. So much word. To the max. - Masked Man #2 should throw in more tacky slang but he's not in the mood to really do the gimmick justice. Link to comment
Nega-Brent
I was surprised to learn that this movie is a remake of a Hong Kong film. It surprised me even more that the original film, Infernal Affairs, was greatly inspired by Taxi Driver. I bet Andrew Lau soiled himself when he learned Martin Scorsese was directing the American remake of his Taxi Driver inspired film. Link to comment
Battle_Pope
I saw it last night and it was really good. Link to comment
Dramatic Conclusion
You convinced me, I'm seeing it in 2 hours :P Link to comment

Depression
Strong candidate for both my favorite and best movie of the year. It was nice to see Scorsese touchback on the criminal underworld setting. Probably his most comfortable subject matter. Everything about the film screams class. The directing clearly puts most contemporaries to shame, and the acting is the best you'll see from Damon and Wahlberg. Where as Baldwin and DiCaprio I think have already proven themselves. I liked Gangs and The Aviator, but this is the most fun I've had with a Scorsese film since Goodfellas and Casino. Link to comment
Nega-Brent
If he doesn't win an Oscar for this then something is wrong. Link to comment
Depression
Definitely. The man is long overdue, and there hasn't been much competition this year. I love how one movie just put everything the summer had to offer to shame. I'm wondering if Nicholson will get a nomination for best lead, or if Wahlberg will get one for supporting. Link to comment
Natsu
I actually wanna see this I always like Nicholsons roles in movies... Link to comment
Depression
If Flags of Our Fathers turns out to be good, Eastwood could be Scorsese's competition once again. Knowing the Oscars, Scorsese probably has the edge. They seem to make their choices that make statements rather than awarding the actual best. They waited for ROTK with Jackson. Newman didn't win until he did The Color of Money which isn't anywhere near as good as his other movies. Link to comment
Battle_Pope
Also, The Good Shepherd could be some sort of competition. Link to comment
Depression
Ironically, Scorsese's bread and butter (DeNiro & Pesci) are in The Good Shepherd. Baldwin and Damon are also in it. Link to comment

I didn't even notice how long I was, I just had my hands up to my face saying 'Oh my GOD, he did not just do that!' a million time. :( I hate how Matt Damon made me hate him/hischaracter. Ohmygosh amazing. The scene with both of them dead silent on the cell phones SCREAMED homoeroticism. Edit: Eeeeee your new icon! Wahlberg was amazing! Link to comment

I think when you really hate/dislike a character, its a testament to how good of a performance they put forth. J. Phoenix in Gladiator comes to mind. I liked how they used Dropkick Murphy's "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" twice. Scorsese's scores are often off beat or not of the typical. Edit: William will return as Ocean's 13 nears. Link to comment

Trully some of the ebst fucking acting I have seen come out of hollywood recently. Although your comment on colour of money I completely diisagree with it is one of my all time fucking favourite scorsese films. When I first ever heard about it being a sequel to The HUSTLER I obviously had to see it but wa so bloody worried they might ruin newman;s charachter but they fucking got it perfect and expanded him so bloody well. I truly adiore that film beyond known logic. Link to comment
Depression
I liked The Color of Money and actually own it (in all its non anamorphic glory). I just thought some of his older roles were more deserving. Classics now, but I guess maybe they weren't seen as so back when they came out. I'm sure there are a shit load of Oscar winners that after looking back on we probably should think wtf. Link to comment
darkon
This movie was fucking awesome on so many levels. It was just great, in every sense of the word. Link to comment
