Okay. Here's an easier way.

If you don't like games that focus mostly on the story, by creating hours and hours of cutscenes, while the gameplay suffers. No.

If you liked Xenogears and expect Saga to be just like it. No.

If you want a good story and soundtrack at the expense of time and money for all 3 games, yes.

Episode I is decent. II is horrible in terms of gameplay and everything is mostly flashbacks. III fixes most of the problems in terms of gameplay the first two had, but you'll need to play the first two to appreciate the third.

Anyway, Xenosaga I is pretty good while the second one is pretty bad. I have not yet played the 3rd one, but I've heard its more like the first one and the battle system is much improved.

I've only played the first one, and I thought it was really boring. Since there are plenty of better RPGs on PS2, I'd say that it isn't worth it.

J-Stop pretty much said it all. I just wanted to stress that if you have played Xenogears, do not expect a game of that quality.

But if you have haven't, then nevermind. The story is pretty interesting, but the gameplay is actually pretty bland.
