Akito
DS is currently an RPG starved game system, but it looks like things are starting to change. So the purpose of this thread is to keep track of up-coming DS RPGs. We have four to look forward to in the next couple of months: Contact - 10/10/06 Magical Starsign - 10/23/06 Children of Mana - 10/30/06 Final Fantasy III - 11/14/06 If any new RPGs are confirmed for a US release, please be sure to mention it in this thread so I don't miss anything. We also (hopefully) have Dragon Quest Monsters and Tales of the Tempest to look forward to. And apparently DS is also getting an SRPG based on the Mana universe called Heroes of Mana, a Final Fantasy XII spin-off, and an entry in the Atelier Iris series. It seems that DS will soon enough be the superior RPG handheld. Link to comment
Natsu
I know which one I'm getting from your list Link to comment
Scarface
yep yep coincidentally enough, the only ds rpg I have is Lunar! I ROCK! Link to comment
Akito
Heroes of Mana trailer is up. It's a cool trailer, but I'm a bit weary about how it's going to play. It appears to be a real-time strategy game, which is a genre that I've never been too fond of. But oh well, I'll have to wait and see. BTW, though it's not technically an RPG, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime is out. It's pretty fucking sweet, so everyone should pick it up. Link to comment
Natsu
bah.. fucking strat Rpg's even on my beloved Mana series...are strategy rpgs the bane of my existence... Link to comment

Natsu
Yeah, strat RPGs are terrible. But aside from that, DS is already the greatest handheld ever. well yes it is. Link to comment
Akito
Well guys, I can confirm that Contact and Magical Starsign are both awesome. And Children of Mana (fuck you Link, FUCK YOU) should be out tomarrow. So now that DS has some good RPGs, get to work! Link to comment

LinkOcarinaMan
So Children of Mana isn't a bust like every other Mana game since Secret of Mana? Yes you heard that correct. Link to comment
Scarface
Seiken Densetsu 3 wasn't a bust. Link to comment
Akito
Seiken Densetsu 3 was pretty awesome. I think it deserves a DS port (and a US release). And I also liked Sword of Mana, even though it wasn't as good as it could have been. The only one I really didn't like was Legend. Link to comment
Scarface
so other then Super (who is a lamer) did anyone else get FF3? any good? Talk to me fags! Link to comment
Akito
I got it. It's quite awesome. There is no reason an old-school FF fan should pass it up. Link to comment
Ceraziefish
Seiken Densetsu 3 wasn't a bust. I started playing it on an emulator of Thanksgiving break, I highly approve. Link to comment

Kyoudai
I have Children of Mana, but I haven't played it yet. I'm in the middle of FFIII and loving it, and I just started playing CV:PoR, which contains DESU. Link to comment
Akito
And here we have Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja, a dungeon crawler that Atlus will be publishing in the US sometime next year. From the screen shots, it looks sort of like a Fushigi no Dungeon style game. While games of its type aren't exactly the best kind of RPG out there, it still looks like it could be rather interesting. And Atlus's localization jobs have been top-notch as of late, so I will be looking forward to this one. Link to comment
Kyoudai
I can't stop playing FFIII. I put down FFXII and Portrait of Ruin for it. It's been so long since I've played a good old school RPG, I love it. Link to comment
Scarface
Link, told me this, but it's true.... Dragon Quest 9 will be for the DS! rock on~ Link to comment
