GummyBearOfDoom
Ok this is my sisters boyfriends brother playing on his guitar with his teacher. He's on the left. Hes pretty amazing. Just wanted to share this. http://youtube.com/watch?v=nODcuHXnv08 Link to comment
GummyBearOfDoom
That's him playing with Joe Stump at Berklee College of music. Link to comment
rockerluke
I expected Joe Stump to pwn him, but he's amazing and there's a balance of power between the both of them. Link to comment
Makil
He better be good seeing as how he's playing a Steve Vai signature...which costs a shitload. Link to comment
John
The guitar player in Wind's band isn't that great but he plays a JEM. That's not the point. I personally think that the student owned Stump. The kid played some really interesting stuff and I liked the use of the whammy bar. Link to comment
GummyBearOfDoom
Ben practices about 8 hours a day, and it pays off. Link to comment
John
I would rather move past Fender, Gibson and Ibanez and move on to bigger and better things. Carvin, Suhr, Parker, Ernie Ball, etc. Link to comment
John
Gretsch?Wtf? Foldered, I disown you. Link to comment
Chrono of The Black Howling
Great video! Joe was was definately the more technical of the two which should be expected since he is a pro but Ben played some very interesting parts \M/ Link to comment
John
Joe was more technical but I just found his playing pretty boring. And the kid wasn't to shabby on the chops himself. Link to comment

John
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAwrKlBuhLw add 8 more months of practice to that While that's a little better than stuff I've heard from your bands, it wasn't too great. It was good and he has some awesome chops, but that doesn't show me his musical ability. The solos he's had in your other bands weren't the greatest, but hey, maybe he's improved since then. My point was that the guitar in no way makes the player. I've known kids who suck balls who have gotten $3000 Les Paul's. Link to comment
Wind
Yeah i understand haha no problem dude, you can probrably see why I'd be like ?! when you use a member of my band for an example :P Link to comment
Makil
Ben practices about 8 hours a day, and it pays off. God I would kill to have that amount of time to practice in a fucking WEEK. -___- Link to comment

JeremyGEE
8 hours is too much practice, in my opinion. If you wanna be good at guitar, You gotta put your playing in perspective. Practice(Give it your all), of course, but be able to put the guitar down and enjoy yourself without it. Link to comment
GummyBearOfDoom
I don't agree at all. TO become the best you have to practice more then anyone out there. The more practice you have the better you become at something. Link to comment
Ceraziefish
I call bullshit. Of course, to be good at something, you have to practise. Just because you practise a lot, however, doesn't mean you're the best at what you do. Look at Stephen King, he's released so many books, but he's still a sub-par writer. I agree 100%. Hell, look at some of the best guitarists out there; Jimi Hendrix did so many drugs and died so young that I'm sure that thousands of living guitarists have actually spent more time practicing than he did in his entire life. And there's a big difference between just wanking around and actually studying, too. Seriously practicing involves trying to learn a song or whatever, not just playing around (although that helps too). Link to comment

There is a measure of natural ability that it takes to do something. If me and you were the same skill level but I practiced 3 hrs more i'd be better then you. It's common sense, that's all i'm saying. Link to comment
rockerluke
Yngwie Malmsteen doesn't practice. He just does some warm-ups before concerts and just grabs his guitar when he feels like playing. But whether you like him or not, he can play all Paganini's 24 caprices on the electric guitar. I'm not practicing hard either. I only do intense practice when preparing for contests and performances. But I never got outplayed in classical guitar. And I can shred the hell out of most people in my area. Link to comment
