Hero
So, this thread is for Twilight Princess spoilers, up to the end of the game, obviously. You've been warned. Link to comment
Harrison Ford
Midna's true form is an incredibly hot chick. I mean, hotter than Zelda. Link totally got a boner for her at the end too, you could see it in his face. Link to comment
Akito
I was a little disappointed by the lack of Shadow Link. I mean, if any Zelda game could have fit Shadow Link into the story, it's this one. Oh well. Oh yes, and the Ganondorf battle was pretty awesome. Still not as cool as Wind Waker's though. Link to comment
Hero
I think having a Shadow Link in this game would have messed with the point. You have Zant, who is like a Twilight version of Ganon. You have Midna, who is like a twilight version of Zelda. Link, however, exists in both realms. Sure, he's a wolf in one, but he has no twilight version. The hero of the twilight realm turned out to be someone from the world of light. He was the perfect example of bridge between the two worlds that Midna was talking about. Link to comment
Akito
Well, what got my hopes up was that warning you recieve from the Spirit of Light in Lake Hylia. And then it showed that really creepy cutscene with all the evil Links. I guess my wishful thinking got the best of me and made me think that there would be an evil version of Link to fight. I'd say than an epic one-on-one sword fight against Shadow Link is probably what I most would like to see in a new Zelda game. Link to comment
Harrison Ford
Oh, one thing that pissed me off was the wolf training scenes. I mean its cool to implement something new, but I rather find hidden feiry(sp)'s and get powerups. Also I totally thought shadowlink would be in this game too. It seemed so obvious to finally have him in the game. Link to comment
LeadingMan
Sorry I'm late to the spoiler party. I too thought Shadow Link would be in this game. I mean I understand now what the cut scene was trying to say, but it really really looked like a prelude to a Shadow Link battle. I'm sad to say my true problem with this game was never resolved. Story wise I just don't particularly like it. Not enough answers to why Windwaker is the way it was, no real connection to any other game than OoT. Link didn't quite feel like his own hero to me, I'm confused about why Ganon's triforce lost it's power and then suddenly gained it again by the time Windwaker happened... I mean yes he was defeated and he lost his link to the world of light through Zant, but the triforce shouldn't have dissappeared. Like, at all... So very unsatisfied. As a videogame this thing clearly deserves an A. But as a Zelda, B at best. Also I REALLY don't like the idea of the Ooccoo. The Hylians being blessed by the gods was good enough for me. They didn't need to add magical bird people with flabby exposed breasts giving them ancient secrets. That kind of crap trivializes the lore. I guess I just don't like that Link is really the twilight realms hero. Sure he saved both, but when it comes down to it, he's not even remembered by Hyrule. In the end nobody cares about all you just did, and that sucks. Edit: However gameplay wise I think this was easily the best one yet. The swordplay was amazingly fun, the wii-mote works wonders for bows and hookshots. And my god, the cave of ordeals... Wonderful gameplay. Oh, except the howling. That felt tacked on when they realized they didn't have a "song mechanic." Also: Fuck the magic armor. Useful for the cave of ordeals, but I like my rupees dammit. Link to comment

Although it was midna in her "cat imp" form and link in his dog form... It was vomit inducing. I guess what I'm trying to say here is watch what you wish for... Or at least word your wishes more carefully. Link to comment

Siendra
Uh, Gimpy, the game is clearly connected to Majora's Mask aswell. The skullkid guarding the Temple of Time, and the fact that it isn't the sages you met in OoT that are shown sealing Ganondorf would suggest Twilight Princess takes place after child links ending (MM) from OoT, and not adult Links ending. LeadingMan
Never heard of the two timelines theory, huh? Actually yes I have. Which is why I mentioned by the time windwaker happens since most place TP after OoT and before WW in the Adult Link timeline. At the moment a lot of people are theorizing that there's a piece missing and a sequel will be coming soon simply because so much doesn't add up yet. At this point TP's place in the timeline is very tenious at best since it holds very few links to any of the other stories. Recurring enemies (aka a skullkid) and ambiguous sages don't prove a thing. At this point it could be in either and most people are still clinging onto the adult timeline due to creator quotes. But that doesn't mean it being only directly connected to OoT is a bad thing. After much thought I've come to the conclusion that the downplay of many major elements in the saga (aka the triforce is barely mentioned and only displays it's power by flashing a couple times, and zelda's mostly absent) help solidify the twilight aspect and focus your attention more on Midna and her plight. Really this story is about the Twili... And that's not such a bad thing... It's just missing many of the elements that make Zelda games what they typically are. And ultimately it simply was not what I expected. Which is what made me rant previously. ;) Link to comment

The Lone Magician
I just finished this game last night. I, too, wish it had Shadow Link in it. It would have been so easy to put in: Why not have a boss be/make a copy of link? Seems that Ganon (or maybe even Zant, seein as he kept changing the scenery the entire fight) could make one easily.I mean, come on, if he can possess Zelda, why not copy Link? Link to comment

The Lone Magician
Guess they figured it'd be controversial and/or fresh to fans of the series to face off against Zelda, rather then take on Shadow Link again. I meant in addition to that, or at some other point in the game (like I said, Zant probably could have done it, too. Oh well, it was still a good game). I guess that's what Zelda gets for not "thanking" Link for saving the world. I wonder if at any point during his adventure, Link thinks to himself, "Y'know what? This kinda sucks." Link to comment
Ikari Warrior
Well, I just finished it. Great game all around, though I agree with Gimp's position on the howling being tacked on. ESPECIALLY on the Lake Hylia skill; I couldn't even get that one to fucking work, piece of shit. The core elements of the game are still good because they're basically unchanged since OoT. I guess giving Link the ability to jump at will, instead of a stupid roll was just too much for the developers' greater plan. I liked that Ganon possessed Zelda. I got a big smile on my face when I read "Ganon's Puppet: Zelda". Overall, I felt the boss fights were lacking after the second dungeon. The most challenging boss was the first one, or perhaps the halfway boss in the second dungeon; that one actually killed me. Even Ganon didn't take very long to conquer. I was expecting to have to use my hidden skills against him. It's all about timing, and when you have to do one thing three times, and it's not even that hard...maybe it's because it's the gamecube version, I dunno. Pressing A repeatedly was really too easy, especially after all the times I had to do it in RE4 *LOL* And man, how pissed was I when you don't even get to see Link stab him. By the time you backflip off, it's way the fuck up high, and you can't see shit. You can impale 40,000 regular enemies no problem, but for some reason, Ganon is special, and they won't show it. I still like OoT's last boss fight better. Zelda still uses the same formula of "go here, get the tresure, kill the boss with the tresure, repeat." Somehow, they managed to stretch it over 40 hours and be fun. It got really frustrating at times though. Fuck the water temple, and fuck the ice temple. I have hated every water and ice dungeon in every zelda game since LttP. Not because they're hard, but because they're tedious and aggrivating. I really enjoyed the goron mines though. That level was NEAT. The forest temple was okay; the gale boomerang is cool. I hated the water temple, but I did like sliding down the stairs once you got the water flowing. I hated the desert level, but I hate every desert level in every game. I hated the ice level, but I thought it was neat that it was a mansion. The sky city was cool, but also annoying. I agree with Gimp's assessment of the Occooca. Overall, great game. Midna is hot. Thanks for the fap material f-stop. At least ONE good thing came out of Twilight Princess...the twighlight princess. Gundampilotspaz
Amazing I just finished it The final boss fight was so fucking Epic. The only complaint I have at this point is that overall the bosses were easy, some puzzles were tricky... that might have made up for it. Either way, A++ will play again. Link to comment
Gundampilotspaz
I don't think the ending fit in with the rest of the game. Here is the video for you guys to refresh your memory. Link to comment
