I work at JC Penneys in the home department. If I have one more person yell at me for us being sold out of what's in the ad I'm going to strangle them.

What even makes it worse is how they hire all these seasonal people, and I swear it's ususually harder to explain everything to them than to just do it yourself. What's the point of hiring them for one stupid month? o_o

(I actually was only supposed to work one month, but they asked me to stay.)

Random weird thing happened the other day though- This actually nice elderly lady asked me all this stuff about MP3 players. Keep in mind there are no MP3 players in the store. It was really funny/random. I answered her questions though. (She wasn't annoying so I liked her.) XD

I get to work 4-11:30 this Friday night. I think my boss is mad at me. Seriously, I had to close the first year I was there because I was new meat, but last year I barely ever had to close. Now I've got some major seniority but I guess it's because there's usually not a manager on at night.

I work at Bath and Body Works and I really haven't run into many stupid people yet (only been working 3 weeks though). If anything bothers me it's the people who decide to give you coupons they have after I ring everything up and can't void the transaction to use the coupon. Oh and people who can't read the coupons properly. Free item up to $13 with any purchase does not mean a free collective group of items for $13.

I always tell them I have the coupon ahead of time. << >>

The people there are always really happy. They must like to hire good actresses?

You do well with coupons young grasshopper. :P

For the most part they actually do hire really happy nice people because they focus on customer service rather than selling. Customers have a better shopping experience when the workers are happy/peppy and help them in any way possible.

Pretty sure I fall in the good actress category though. :P

I hate christmas....

fucking shithouse shifts.. from next thurs, i've got night shifts that end at 10PM... except the friday before chirstmas shift which ends at midnight =___=

Who do you work for?

Telstra. More specifically, Telstra Shop Employee

Between the media, the Parliament and the rest of the public, we're pretty much hated.

Worse for me that for most Telstra staff cause i work in the Shops

Do you work for AOL?

Excluding the fact that we don't mail out billions of dialup CDs, we have about the same kind of love from the public

I think AOL in Australia has a better standing than Telstra =/

I work for CVS, some of you know it, others on the West Coast do not.

I hated my job until I suddenly recieved a raise that boosted my rate of pay higher than a managers wage, so I have been pretending to love it and consuming all the knowledge there so I can get paid even more. It's a shame that people can't retain knowldge about a single fucking thing in retail, literally my entire photo lab depends on me to know how to repair the machine, render services, and general computer operations on the machine that are almost self-explanitory.

I don't understand why I know so much about Photometry Unit equipment, because I honestly hate it all, but I was recently offered the position of being the Lab Supervisor, basically ousting the acting one even though she had a year of experience on me. I declined it because I was looking to grab Assistant Manager and make 40-50K a year.
