Anime Gee
So yeah. I will be buying one of these within the next few months. http://www.lexus.com/models/is/index.html <--- Lexus IS 250 with a 6 speed manual. http://www.mitsubishicars.com/lancerevolution/index.html <--- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 MR. They are both awesome, but here's the neat things about each one: Lexus IS 250 Ultra reliable Very refined Less Expensive than the EVO 9 MR Lots of Creature Comforts Rear Wheel Drive Excellent resale value Good handling & performance Very sporty looking, but yet classy Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 MR This is the king of economy sport sedans 0 to 60 in about 4.5 seconds This car comes from the WRC ---> http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMSA/jsp/ral.../raFrame_VL.jsp 4 wheel drive ---> http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/motorspor.../05_01monte.ram Handles like a go-kart, but yet still civilized enough to drive in the city Can pretty much outrun, outbrake, & outhandle cars that cost in the $90,000 range & above That being said, each car has it's own flaws. The IS 250 is pretty heavy at 3,400 LBS & is not really meant to be driven like a sports car. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 costs about $38,000 & it's pretty much well known that this car is not a sleeper, so I would get reved on a lot & the cops would be on my ass often. Hahaha! So yeah. Which one would you pick & why? (^o^ ) <3 Link to comment
thebornotaku
the MR. regardless of the cop factor, it's your best bet. you can't go wrong with a WRC-child with AWD. also, that thing would murder the canyons. also, you forgot that the IS has a cheat code which disables VDIM and lets you use all those 306hp. thebornotaku
Buy a domestic. and spend more money on a lesser car? Link to comment
Anime Gee
Buy a domestic. http://www.cadillac.com/cadillacjsp/model/....jsp?model=ctsv ^ The only domestic that I like is the Cadillac CTS-V with a 6 speed manual, but that's out of my price range. I also like the Ford SVT division. Too bad that they don't have any 4 door performance cars at this moment. I wish they would bring the Ford Mondeo ST220 (SVT equivalent) to the USA. That's a pretty neat car. But yeah. Most domestics don't interest me. (^o^ ) <3 Link to comment
Oerlikon
Get an Acura. I'm lovin' my TL.... Link to comment
Alundra
Buy American muscle, can never go wrong with that. The cops here actually pull up next to us and ask us what's under the hood, not pull us over. Link to comment
Gundampilotspaz
Who the hell buys American cars? Link to comment
Belial
Who the hell buys American cars? People who would rather not see one of the foundations of the American economy crumble? Link to comment
margot
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 MR the go kart line got me. Link to comment
Gundampilotspaz
People who would rather not see one of the foundations of the American economy crumble? Thats a bullshit reason. Link to comment
Belial
Thats a bullshit reason. No, thats a great reason. Plus many people get discounts when they buy a American made car, because of their family members working at the company. Link to comment
Gundampilotspaz
So because you can't compare the proformance and durability of american cars to Japanese or German cars, you make up bullshit reasons. Link to comment
Belial
If the performance of cars was the only factor involved in purchasing one, everyone would be driving Ferraris (or whatever other high end car make you would like to substitute). I'm sorry if your blue blooded brain can't wrap around the concept of thrift and afordability GPS, but for most Americans such ideas hold precedence. Link to comment
Kreutz
So because you can't compare the proformance and durability of american cars to Japanese or German cars, you make up bullshit reasons. Or maybe we just have some national pride, you fucking Commie. Seriously, though, I've never had an American car go completely to shit on me like my Mazda did. Plus, like Belial said, some of us come from blue-collar beginings and would rather our money went back to people like us than somewhere else. Until you've dealt with an entire city folding up because of jobs going overseas, you wouldn't understand. Link to comment
stranger
Lexus' are American cars Link to comment
Belial
Until you've dealt with an entire city folding up because of jobs going overseas, you wouldn't understand. And I'm from Michigan. Nearly every city in Michigan is totally dependent on the Auto Industry and now that they are packing up, the entire state's economy has nose-dived toward rockbottom. Link to comment
Kreutz
Lexus' are American cars Not really, most of the parts are outsourced to other countries. I think there is one that's made entirely in America, but I might be thinking of another make. Link to comment

I think there is one that's made entirely in America, but I might be thinking of another make. Well yeah the parts aren't American (it's Toyota) but, that's a minor detail, the car I believe is still considered American. I may be wrong though ... Link to comment

Well congradulations, this isn't a topic about the eccnomic state of Michigan. This topic is about cars and this sappy bullshit doesn't belong here. Link to comment
stranger
While GPS' argumements seem... nonexistant? I think he's right. It's pretty stupid to buy American when you know that Japanese and European are all around better. This isn't a TV we're talking about, this is a many thousand dollar investment that you don't want fucking crapping out on you just becuase you wanted to be proud and buy American. Link to comment
Gundampilotspaz
There is nothing to be proud of when you own a Ford. Link to comment
Alundra
Who the hell buys American cars? People that aren't too big of a pussy to put 500 HP under their ass. Apparently we got a big 'ol pussy here. Link to comment
