LinkOcarinaMan
I am suprised there isn't a thread for this. All I have to say is.........HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!! This just took every other game released this year and bitch slapped it. It is easily the game of the year, sorry Suikoden V, you can still get second place. I just started playing it via the Gamecube and I am in total awe. This thread is to discuss how fucking great this game is. My only complaint is that the fishing was clearly designed for the Wii version and isn't that great on the Cube version. I can see how it would work great with the Wiimote, but the Cube fishing fails compared to the fishing in Ocarina of Time. Link to comment

There is a much better fishing minigame later on. Of course, I don't know how that plays in the GC version, but I'd imagine that it's much closer to the fishing in Ocarina. Also, lol 8.8 Link to comment
Kyoudai
I need to actually start playing this game. When I got my Wii I tried it out for about an hour or two, and I haven't gotten back to it yet. Seems really good. I'd definately give it at least an 8.8 Link to comment

LinkOcarinaMan
Oh, the videogame section. I refuse to go there, it is full of idiots. I was talking about the RPG club, the only part of AE that really matters. Link to comment
LinkOcarinaMan
Now that that little distraction is out of the way. This game continues to rule all, I just cleared the Goron Mines Temple last night and was floored with how well designed it was. Usually the beginning temples in a traditional Zelda before you get the Master Sword are just beginner dungeons (Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time), and then after you get the Master Sword, you really hit the truly massive and fantastic dungeons. I can't wait to see what the game has in store for me later on!!! Link to comment
LinkOcarinaMan
This game just keeps getting better and better and I haven't even entered the 3rd temple yet. Hyrule is just so massive in this game. Hyrule is broken up into little subsections that represent the various areas and a lot of those areas alone are just as big as the entire overworld from Ocarina of Time. There is just so much to do in this game and the world is insanely gorgeous and a blast to explore. Also, people were afraid that with the move back to traditional 3D polygon graphics after the cel-shaded Wind Waker that the characters would lose a lot of the charm and emotion that made Wind Waker so great. Well, that couldn't be more far from the truth, in fact, the characters in this game pull you in just as much as the Wind Waker group, if not more. This game is simply a masterpiece and I must say that for the first time since I've played it, Ocarina of Time is in jeopardy of losing its top spot for my favorite game of all time. Link to comment
Kyoudai
I have to agree, I'm already beginning to think that Twilight Princess is a better game than Ocarina of Time. I just got the Master Sword, and I have to say what excites me the most about this game is the fact that I haven't seen Tingle anywhere yet. Please God don't let him be in this game. That guy who runs the chicken flying game over Hyrule Lake isn't half as gay as Tingle is. But seriously, this game is awesome. The graphics, the story, and the dungeon design are all impressive. J-Stop
I've only played my copy for about an hour and a half or so. I'm stuck trying to jump across those goddamn pillars. In the beginning part of the forest? Because you can't. At least not until later, » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «they are meant for Wolf-Link to jump Link to comment

LinkOcarinaMan
Well I finally finished it and obviously I loved every second of it. It is easily the best game of the entire last generation, and yes, I'm talking about the Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox generation since I played the Gamecube version. After finishing it I'm not sure if I would rank it above Ocarina, but just comparing it to the single greatest game of all time is a huge honor for Twilight Princess. Nintendo did it again with the Zelda franchise, they always manage to make Zelda games be considered the greatest games of all time. Way to go guys. Here is how I rank the main Nintendo made Zelda's. 1. Ocarina of Time 2. Twilight Princess 3. Link to the Past 4. Majora's Mask 5. Wind Waker 6. Link's Awakening 7. Legend of Zelda 8. Adventure of Link I am not counting the Philips CD-I games or the handheld games made by Crapcom (Oracle of Ages/Seasons and Minish Cap) since I don't consider them canon Zelda material. LinkOcarinaMan
So how would you guys rank the 9 dungeons? Here is how I would do it. 1. Snowpeak Ruins - Snow levels are always my favorite in videogames. Combine that with cannons and two awesome yetis and you have one of the best Zelda dungons ever. 2. Lakebed Temple - The water temple was my favortite in OoT and this one did not disappoint. Not nearly as confusing as the OoT temple, but it was tricky enough in its own way. 3. City in the Sky - The double clawshot is one of my favorite items in the entire Zelda franchise and this dungeon put it to good use. Springing all over the place, plenty of ooccoo, and a truly epic boss fight. Awesome. 4. Goron Mines - Iron boots with magnets is one of the most original ideas for a Zelda dungeon in quite some time. You also got the bow in this dungeon and due to that there were plenty of enemies to fight (more so than most dungeons). 5. Twilight Palace - I really loved this dungeon while it lasted, but that is the problem, it is too short. This dungeon could have easily been #1 if it was longer. But, you do get awesome twilight segments, a lighted Master Sword, and you fight one of the games major enemies in an epic boss fight. Good stuff. 6. Arbitor Grounds - The spinner is a great item, but it isn't used nearly enough in this dungeon. Also, the first segment (the 4 poes) is ripped right from the OoT forest temple. This is still a very fun dungeon with a great boss fight though. 7. Temple of Time - I was disappointed by this dungon, but it was still pretty decent. Controlling statues is fun and the miniboss is an epic fight against a fully armored swordsman (much better fight than the boss of this dungeon) 8. Forest Temple - It was the first dungeon in the game so I wasn't really expecting it to be that great, but it was still quite fun. The Gale boomerang is an awesome item, the monkeys were fun, and it was the first taste of the Twilight Princess dungeons. I enjoyed it. 9. Hyrule Castle - Meh, this dungeon was basically just filler before the epic and amazing final boss battle of the game. It was cool fighting the Darknuts though. So there you have it, a very solid list of dungeons and the only one that I would call a true disapointment is Hyrule Castle, and even that had its upsides. Link to comment
Akito
Hmm, it's hard for me to place them in order, but my favorites were the Goron Mines and the City in the Sky. I agree that the Temple of Time was a tad disappointing. It wasn't bad or anything, but after all the amazing dungeons before it, it was a bit of a let down to see a late-game dungeon that was somewhat lazily designed. I agree that Hyrule Castle was the weakest dungeon in the game. But it's still better than what Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker had. And Majora's Mask, well, it didn't even have a dungeon before the final battle. So I guess we can't complain too much. Link to comment
