Tull
No matter what people may think of the first Fantastic Four movie from last year this sequel has me a bit panting like a Pavlovian dog just for the look of one Norrin Radd. I wonder if Giant space-man with purple pants will be done as well; Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer teaser Link to comment
Nega-Brent
As much as I disliked the first movie, I have to admit that trailer was pretty sweet. Link to comment
Tull
I still don't see this franchise elevating itself to the level of the Spider-Man franchise, but it has potential to be the more fun of the current successful Marvel title franchises. No message about emotional problems, discrimintation, etc... FF has always been about Giant Space-Man with purple pants, aliens, water-breathing prince with the hots for Sue, etc... I'm wondering if they'll be using classic Galactus or Ultimates version. Link to comment
Nega-Brent
I'm wondering if they'll be using classic Galactus or Ultimates version. They are using the classic Galactus, but I don't think he will be a big part of the movie. From the descriptions I've read, it sounds like Silver Surfer starts out as the film's villain with the Fantastic Four forced to make an reluctant alliance with Dr. Doom in order to stop him. Then as it progresses Doom betrays them and steals the power cosmic, just like in the comic book series, from the Surfer. My guess is that the Surfer learns to appreciate humanity while dealing with Dr. Doom and gains his powers back just in time to aid them as Galactus arrives near the end or at the end of the movie. GummyBearOfDoom
This movie looks even shittier then the first one. They shoved about a 5 scene with silver surfer. You know when they show only one part of the movie for the whole trailer that it will blow major ass. I saw the first one in theaters and I wasn't suprised that it was as terrible at it was. I can almost gurantee this will be one of those "The only cool part was already shown in the trailer" movies. Link to comment

While still it was nothing extraordinary it wasn't the worst thing I have ever seen. I reserve that for X3 being the worst comic book movie. I think this next FF will be pretty good, since "Silver Surfer" was a big part in that storyline they are doing. If he is there that means Galactis is around, and the "Silver Surfer" will beat all sorts of ass on both sides. Shove it quail douche. Link to comment

Which it did perfectly. Infact staying true to the comic isn't always good when it's shown on the big screen. I just checked rotten tomatoes also, yay for a 25%. And also yes I am pissed silver skeeter isn't in it, honk honk! Link to comment

Baltar
I'm not going to even attempt an argument, just live in pre-judgment land because a teaser perfectly shows the entire movie. Good flashy trailers always means a great film obviously, so I guess I have no ammo. I leave it at that and no more. Link to comment
Harrison Ford
I liked the first movie alot, even tho everyone else hated it. The thing is, I went in watching it knowing what it was. Fantastic 4 was never an amazing comic IMO, thus the movie wasn't going to be amazing either. The trailers cool tho. Seems like it may be more action oriented just to keep the crowd from getting bored of the same old Fantastic 4 drama. Also, the actors are awesome as far as acting like the comic book versions. Again tho, I always found the fantastic 4 universe to be a tad boring aside from the Silver surfer arc. Link to comment

HappyLittleBoozer
Trailer wasn't that amazing, and I first saw it in theaters. The FX may be good but CGI a movie does not make. Weak writing and acting are most of what ruined the first movie, not the visuals. We could be lucky and the writers might have learned their lesson after the tragedy they composed the first time 'round and we'll get better stuff. Even then, the actors need to be more commited to the roles. Everything was fucked up with the first movie, so they have to fix EVERYTHING in order for it to be at least watchable. Link to comment
