This sums up pretty much everything there is to know about this case, there's a less detailed write up in the Hal Turner Wikipedia article.

Long story short: Hal Turner, an asshole white supremacist radio show host who's been arrested multiple times on charges of domestic violence has an apparently failing radio show. On what's supposedly going to be the last show, a large group of people organized through 4chan and IRC, comprising more than 150 people, prank call his show in the course of its run.

He gets the phone numbers of the callers. Most of them were made with Linux CID-spoofing technology, but there are a few valid ones, and he posts these on the internet with instructions for his fans/followers to get addresses based on the numbers and firebomb the callers' homes and kill their families. The channers give him a chance to remove the callers' info from his website, but he doesn't comply, so they obtain his personal info and spread it all over the internet, leading to a massive barrage of phone calls to his house, day and night, for a week.

This forces him to take the personal info down, but he soon posts it back up again, along with threats to personally hunt down and murder the people responsible. Currently his webpage redirects to the FBI homepage.

So yeah... lol internet war. This is an interesting event, to say the least, and it's still unfolding. One of the biggest recorded cases of internet users striking back.

The long story according to Wiki:

On December 20, 2006, during the call in portion of his talk radio show, Turner came under the barrage of numerous prank phone-in calls. Turner was under the impression that the attacks had originated from an IRC network after an anonymous listener gave him a tip, though the callers were also Anonymous. Turner wrote on his web page that he would pursue the prank callers and take legal action if necessary. He had also vowed to post a list of phone numbers in which he believed belonged to the pranksters. Subsequent postings encouraged his regular listeners to use reverse phone directories to find the homes of these individuals and to use their own form of street justice on them, specifically: beating to death, and throwing firebombs into these individuals homes and then to slit their throats when they and their family come out of the house because of the smoke. The fact that most of the phone numbers belonged to minors did not seem to deter Turner. Two days later on December 22, Turner posted a partial list of phone numbers of people who he believed were the prank callers. Via the comments page, regular listeners began to translate the posted numbers into actual addresses.

The list was apparently taken down, but as of December 24, 2006, the list was placed online again after alleged threatening calls were made to Turner's family members.

Also on December 24, 2006, Turner posted an article in his page, claiming that one of the responsibles for the pranks and Denial of Service attacks on his page(supposedly an Australian or New Zealander poster from www.4chan.org) had mailed him his name and address and dared him to do something to him. Allegedly, Turner used his contacts to attack him physically. Along with the article, a picture of a young man with blood on his face was posted. These claims were soon proved false, as the picture was in fact obtained from Google Image Search, and originally belonged to a Hardcore Wrestling site. The article was taken down soon afterwards.

After a period of being offline, on December 27th, 2006 Turner's website redirected to the FBI's homepage. As of 15:00PM GMT, the site is no longer online, and has been replaced with an error page. Hal's otherwebsite, the 'Hal Turner Radio Network', is also down.

Later on December 27th, 2006 Turner's website appeared to be online again, with a false posting of beating up a supposed person up from New Zealand or Australia, the picture posted was false and from an Extreme Hardcore Wrestling site. He has removed the information from his site since.
