Adam
I hate them. I get up early, I take a shower, I tell my parents, grandparents, everybody says it's ok, and that they'll give me a ride. at 12 pm. It is now 6, I called every hour to see if my friend's mom was home so I could come over. nothing, she just now got home, and I find out that my friend is going over someone else's house. man it's so fun to stay home all day, not. Satan
avoid this problem by not having friends. i get along all right with little more than a computer, a PS2 (which i really don't use) a TV and my bikes. Link to comment

Akito
Anime, video games, and the internet make friends obsolete. In fact, such things can transform friendship into more of an annoyance than anything else. Okay, nevermind. That was me from about five years ago speaking. I actually do hang out with my friends these days. But you should at least feel thankful that you could spend your day at home. There are worse things, like going to work. Seriously, I'd rather sit at home bored with absolutely nothing to keep me entertained than go to my miserable job. Link to comment
Ceraziefish
Yeah, most of my friends require about $5 in bus tickets to go visit (more importantly, a couple hours of busriding and the hassle of buses) except for my roommate. But, yeah, when you're 12, friends are fucking lame. Link to comment

Spending a day sittin' around at home not doing anything is something I wish I could do more often. Link to comment
Alundra
Hooray for long responses due to dibilitating injuries and a girlfriend being my only ride around, but she's at a funeral! Anime, video games, and the internet make friends obsolete. In fact, such things can transform friendship into more of an annoyance than anything else. Okay, nevermind. That was me from about five years ago speaking. I actually do hang out with my friends these days. Wow, I was a bit freaked there for a moment, buddy, I thought you were going back to the good 'ole days. But you should at least feel thankful that you could spend your day at home. There are worse things, like going to work. Seriously, I'd rather sit at home bored with absolutely nothing to keep me entertained than go to my miserable job. It all depends on where you work and what you do. Where I work, I made friends with everyone that I work with, it makes the experience that much better, now I have a ton of fun and love going to work because the people there love me. If you seclude yourself and just do your job, people wil generally ignore you and not even care about you after a certain amount of time, it's just plain healthier to be personable. But, yeah, when you're 12, friends are fucking lame. Agreed, even though you can cherish childhood memories, at the end of the day, that's really all it is: synapse. I spent a very, very large part of my life divided between my 2 best friends and playing video games at ages 9-13, the latter getting more attention. I played Chrono Trigger, FFIV, VI, Mystic Quest (You're not alone Akito), Secret Of Mana, Zelda, basically, tons of RPG's. I gained a huge vocabulary at a young age because I actually kept a dictionary next to me when I played higher reading-level RPG's so I could understand what exactly was going on while I was playing. My parent's were thoroughtly suprised when I started using the word, "Annihlated" instead of "killed" when I was 11. Link to comment
Arcane
I've always had a really close knit group of friends my entire life. The group has changed a lot since I was young (which has a lot to do with me moving like 4 times when I was a kid), but I've always spent a lot of time with my friends. I guess that's what happens when you've been playing pen & paper roleplaying games from a young age. Since I've been at college I more or less am constantly with my friends and I really wouldn't have it any other way. I start going crazy from boredom if I end up going more than two or three days without seeing any of my friends. But yeah, sometimes your friends can dick you. Sucks, but it happens. Don't start holding grudges about it though. Link to comment
Wind
yeah I've gotten dicked a buncha times lately. Link to comment
Baltar
I gotten dicked a few times by friends, or been treated shitty like. The true friends though are the ones who care enough to be there whenever you need help. Link to comment

The true friends though are the ones who care enough to be there whenever you need help. That's pretty much how it is. When you're younger, no one's really mature enough... your friends aren't mature enough to not be dicks, and you're not mature enough to take it in stride when they are. Link to comment

Adam
got the shaft again today by two people. Yesterday I had a friend (same one today and yesterday) say at school I can come over and play lost planet...GH2, etc. She ends up saying "I don't know your phone number" and "We had to eat at Ryan's for my cousin's b-day." Today, my friend Damian was supposed to come at 1. He calls and says "I gotta do something with my dad at the shop." Today again my friend said she can't allow me to come over because their parents have some ordeal going on. I don't really care anymore, I go over friends once every 2-3 months and the one time I do the unholy plague appears. Link to comment
margot
mm yea friendship is sort of weird at that age I guess. You're still really dependent on your parents for everything which includes social contact to some extent. When you get into high school you'll probably make way closer friends because everyone hates their parents. Link to comment
Adam
But the thing is, is I can f'ing WALK over there and they deny me. Here's a little message from their dad. Hi Adam, This is Ashley's dad. We don't have a problem with you coming over. The issue with today is that you said your mother gave us an ultimatum, meaning "Adam better be able to come over or else". That is just something you don't say to an adult. If she truly said that, I don't know. I'll have to take your word for it. For now, due to that statement having been made, the answer is no today. That doesn't mean that you are not welcome to come over in the future. We will leave that up to your mother. Please know that we are not angry with you or your mother. I laughed so hard at this. They're acting like it's a threat, no, apparently now it's an incentive for me to reach for cause I hate her parent's guts. I don't like the girl as a girlfriend I like her as a FRIEND. But their thick headed skulls cannot comprehend this. Link to comment

Adam
yeah, your definetely getting the slip. "The Slip"? what's that? Well the guy was supposed to come today at 1 but he called again and his Dad wouldn't let him. God this has been such a fun 3 day-weekend, Praise Allah. Link to comment
ROCKSTEADY
it sounds to me like they don't want to hang out with you, so they're making up excuses. I think its time to make new friends. Link to comment
