I don't know why it didn't occur to me before (While reading the Manga), but I'm pretty sure I know who Isshin was in the Gotei 13 now. It's pretty obvious, actually.

Previous captain of Eleventh Squad. Although it's stated in the series that Zenpachi killed him in order to take his seat, this never seemed right to me. The other captains were too relaxed in his presence, even if it's Soul Society and Death God custom.

Instead, I assume Isshin somehow met his wife well on Earth, and made the decision to step down once somebody of significant strength (Zenpachi) showed up to take his place. As to not raise questions, it was publicized that he had been defeated, while the captains were informed of what had actually occurred. His captains robe is worn to strangely to see what squad he's from, but I think this is likely.

Nope, don't buy it.

Kenpachi took his captain's robe as a prize after her killed him. Also, Kenpachi would NEVER claim to have killed someone that he didn't.

PLUS he didn't say that he was a Captain, he merely implied that he was Captain class.

I assume it's Hitsugaya's seat, but there is no real proof.

Could be Hitsugaya's seat, but it's never explicitly stated WHY he got his seat. Also, Kenpachi has never once claimed to have killed the previous eleventh squad captain. That's always been stated by other, low ranking Shingami.

Oh, and Isshin has a Captains Robe. It's attached to his left should with a shoulder guard.

We don't know what that is, but I said that Kenpachi took the former captains robe upon killing him before in case it was.

As of now it's just a white cape.

Who ever said they fought? No one has ever claimed to have witnessed the fight. Kenpachi has never claimed to have killed him.
