I think it's kind of stuck-up and generally implies privilege. If you're going to go vegan, don't talk about it! But the thing is, it's really hard to be vegan and not talk about it. Imo there are just so many other more important things (environmental and political activism, etc.) you could be concentrating on. But if you really want to, go ahead

A much better idea imo is to buy only milk/eggs/meat from humanely treated and organically fed animals :hardgay:

EDIT: DISREGARD EVERYTHING I SAID IF YOU WANT TO DATE HIPPIE GIRLS

dude, it looks so good.

What he said ^

Personally I thing a vegetarian or vegan for ANY reason other than not liking meat is only hurting yourself. I see no reasonable Political or Environmental reasons to deprive yourself of meat. You are just fooling yourself into believing you are accomplishing something... but I'm not going to stop eating animal flesh any time soon.

Im really sick of farming animals, its just the whole idea of LIVEstock and the objectification of animals in general. I think i stated in random thoughts a couple of nights ago that i even hate people riding horses. Granted i do like meats and cheeses, but i feel like such a hypocrite when one part of my brain is saying one thing, and im doing the opposite. because of this, i've been in quite the mental bind lately.

The only meat that i can see eating meat that was locally hunted.

The part of your brain that's telling you the whole idea of livestock and objectification of animals is sickening is clearly retarded.

hunting is part of human nature.

Meat is what we are meant to eat, we only began to grow and harvest food when developed small community's only a little longer than 5000 years ago.

Before that it was meat and berries.

So what we kill animals, they are breed to die. We aren't disturbing nature we aren't messing with any will, we aren't doing mass killings without keeping the population up. There is no moral reason to be against eating meat. You are being silly.

Vegetarianism and Veganism are two of the four things I will never come to understand.

I've got no beef (this pun is 100% intended) with veganism.

I agree with amy, things like this should NOT be talked about, because even just heading into vegetarianism I got questioned six ways from sunday every time I ate. Veganism is strict..super strict. Good luck if you go with it. Just educate yourself so you know what you're heading into.

I dunno - those organic farmers do need your money to stay in business. I don't see how it hurts the animals to produce milk, eggs, and honey really if they're treated well. What are your reasons?

This is pretty much my opinion. Helping organic farmers and stuff will probably do more than not helping any farmers.

Plus tofurky is disgusting. Tofu was meant to be its own food, not a meat substitute!

Personally, I don't eat meat from the cafeteria here on campus, but that's for health reasons.
