ROCKSTEADY
Im probably overly enthusiastic for this game to come out, but im a little worried about how bethesda will treat it, Hopefully with their track record with the recent installments elder scrolls series, it will be nothing less then stellar. LeadingMan
According to Bethesda they're attempting to keep the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. Which would be awesome. From what we've heard so far they are now fully behind developing Fallout 3 bumping the staff from 19 (while oblivion was in development and fallout in pre-dev.) to 130+. But from all the interviews I've seen they really look dedicated at trying to preserve what makes fallout special. From the humor, the style, to even the stat systems. And they're certainly going to do a better job with it than Interplay's final attempt, Brotherhood of Steel. Fallout 3 isn't vaporware, it just got announced early due to the change of license. Ceraziefish
Man, I missed this thread, but it takes me back. Arguments in sophomore year about when the game was finally going to come out... classic stuff. I think (I hope) that Bethesda does a good job. I mean, I think Oblivion is alright, but it was never half the game Fallout was. Oblivion is satisfying a different niche. But I think they'll do it right. It's not easy to make a game as good as Fallout or Fallout 2, but as long as they use the same mechanics, get some witty people to write the dialogue, and keep a similar art style, I'll be happy as hell. ROCKSTEADY
if its turn based, the SPECIAL system MUST BE USED. I will piss upon and disown it if they leave that out. Link to comment
LeadingMan
Teaser video is finally up. Looks pretty damn good. And they've got Ron Pearlman in it. So extra win there... Now we just gotta wait for some gameplay. Link to comment

LeadingMan
To be honest, I didn't expect anything sooner than 2008. They only began announcing that they were actually working on the game after shivering isles... And now 3 months later they've only shown a teaser, and most games when a teaser is shown have at least a year or two left on them... End of 2008 sounds about right. Link to comment

While I agree, it just kind of feels like Duke Nukem: Forever at this point; although I do understand the license has been tossed around the past few years with nothing to show for it, unlike Forever, which hasn't changed development houses. LeadingMan
It worked. I remember being so incredibly pissed off when I followed that sign to investigate and it led to a press only area for Bethesda. And then on top of that they weren't even showing anything but the Oblivion trailer... Yes, I was mightily angry that day. Then I saw boobies and flashing lights to the left and went over there.
