As if shivering Isles wasn't enough, the mod community is cooking up its own massive update through Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.

This mod is huge.

  • Eight new NPC types with their own factions.
  • Forty new complete armor sets
  • One-hundred-twenty new weapons
  • One-hundred new articles of clothing
  • More then 175 new Gems, books, etc...
  • Complete redesign of the Radiant A.I system (IE: It works how originally intended now. Factions of NPC's, without player involvement raid other factions at random times, purchase good, hunt, etc...)
  • Multiple new boss battles
  • Female Legion soldier, and new Guard paths outside cities
  • 24 New creature retextures
  • Dozens of new Deadra and creatures
  • Creatures only roam in environments where they should be.
  • Animals bear faction allegiances
  • All creatures now have Radiant A.I (HUGE! They'll hunt, seek water, travel in groups, stalk you in sneak mode, etc...)
  • You can ally yourself with creatures, and have them accompany you.
  • Underwater F laura and Fauna
  • Items found in homes/dungeons are now what should be expected in individual areas. IE: Poor homes wont have 500 gold stashed in them. A Deadra god of lucks temple will have +luck equipment.
  • Redesigns for: Alchemy, Armory, Birth signs, Economy, Magic, Skills, Stealth, Weaponry, Enchanting.

This is freaking huge. And I'm totally psyched to see it finished.

I dunno, one of my friends (he posted here a while back, actually, under the name Kenji-some-number-or-other) has the best (and only, actually) Oblivion mods I've ever seen.

Including an in-game console where you can spawn units and set their aggression levels. Let's just say that 300 highly aggressive mudcrabs inside the walls of a city = lots of amusement.

Uh...

Isn't there a console already available in the game?

I know this because my roommate was playing it awhile back and kept using the 'unlock' command instead of any lockpicks.

that almost makes me want to upgrade from my Geforce5500 and buy oblivion.

Buy it anyway and download the Oldblivion mod. Changes all of the in-game textures, and lighting engine. The visuals are a nice components of the game, but the gameplay is awesome too.
