Galkar
So, last tuesday I got off my computer and headed to my guitar lesson. And hour and a half later I came home to find that someone had smashed in the door to my mom's basement office and started taking things from our house. They took a TV, a DVD player, tons of jewelry, 2 hurdy gurdies and broke a third, my computer, guitar amp and wah pedal, PS2, Xbox and Wii. I'm very glad I was at guitar when this happened because they would have surely taken my guitar which sits right next to the other stuff they took. Fortunately we have homeowners insurance, so I just finished ordering an awesome new computer off of Newegg, though the insurance can't do much about the irreplaceable hurdy gurdies Anyway, that's what happened to my while AE was down. :hardgay: Link to comment

amy
Wow, that sucks D= Was everything under insurance or just the electronics? Link to comment
Galkar
I'm pretty sure everything is insured. My dad presented an interesting way to think about this today. He used the time his car stereo was stolen as an example of how everyone involved in the situation benefits. He said that the thief benefits by stealing his stereo and selling it to the fence, the fence benefits by selling it to someone else and making a profit, the person who buys it benefits by getting a good deal on stolen goods, when he reports it to the police, they benefit by being able to say that there is more crime so they get more money, my dad benefits because the insurance company pays him the price of the old stereo, which he uses to buy a better one, Radio Shack benefits by getting business, and the state benefits by getting a percent of the purchase in sales tax. The only party that doesn't benefit is the insurance company, but I'm not going to get too worked up about that. In the end, I'm getting a WAY nicer computer than what was stolen as well as a distortion pedal that will actually be useful to me rather than my shitty broken wah pedal. So it sucks, but at least there's a silver lining to it  Link to comment
amy
^ I was thinking what your dad was thinking but I didn't want to post it! I think the insurance company deserves to not benefit! They are a bunch of rich men anyway! But I guess you could say they benefit when you tell other people you had insurance. They'll say, "Boy, what if that was me! I need insurance too!" Svenska Aeroplan
I hope there wasn't any personal information on the computer, or at least all your accounts were password locked so they have to nuke and pave. Link to comment

Galkar
Somehow I'm really lucking out with all this. I drove down to Guitar Center today to pick up a replacement to the amp and wah pedal that were stolen, and so got the exact same fender practice amp I had and a Big Muff Pi distortion pedal. I got home to find that I hadn't realized that my cables had also been stolen, so I drove back down to GC to get 2 cables, got home again to find that the amp wouldn't turn on. So I drove back down there AGAIN and the guy there picked out another amp of the same model that ALSO didn't work. At this point I think the guy felt sorry for me so he said he'd go pick out a better amp and give it to me for the same price, so I got about a $200 fender practice amp with a bunch of features for the price of my old $100 amp. Yay! Link to comment

Galkar -- I already posted on you eljay but it's good to see that you're really lucking out with guitar center. Those guys are pretty alright if you hit a good salesman and work them right. I got a $200 bass for like $75 awhile back, because I bought the floor model and talked with the guy for awhile. Link to comment
ROCKSTEADY
Stake that shit out. leave your door open, wear a pair of shoes that are 2 sizes to big. When the guy comes in silience your gun and then shoot him, shut the door turn up the heat to about 90 and then go on vacation for a week. Make sure you get rid of the evidence on said vacation (preferably out of state), When you get back they'll see two sets of footprints and assume that his accomplice shot him and ran off, and they won't know how long he's been dead because the heat will be up to ninety. :hardgay: Link to comment

Ceraziefish
Oh man, that myspace in your sig is hilarious! "honestly if I was to list every band and artist within the borders of my musical prefrances.....your head would most likely explode......" Link to comment
Galkar
Yeah, my friend has one that he says he loves, and my guitar teacher loved them enough to go pay a lot of money for an original before they reissued it, so I figured it was probably pretty good. It's not exactly what I was hoping for and at the moment I'm slightly dissapointed, but I'm sure it'll get better when I play with the knobs a bit and figure it out more. It's definitely way better than my old wah pedal though and I like it a lot. Link to comment
