amy
I always see girls saying "No I'm not that hungry...I'll just have a bagel" like instead of soup at lunch. BUT BAGELS ARE REALLY BAD FOR YOU AND MAKE YOU CRASH AND IF YOU EAT TOO MANY YOU CAN GET DIABETES They also have 3x as many calories as a sensible portion of soup and more calories than a big croissant, that is all without cream cheese. IN CONCLUSION BAGELS ARE BAD FOR YOU AND I THINK THEY'RE A BAD IDEA DON'T EAT BAGELS. Link to comment

No Sad Endings
what? Bagels are good for you, they're high in protein. They're especially good for you if you get the whole grain kind, then you've got a lot of fiber too. Yeah, they have more calories than soup, but generally a single serving of soup isn't really enough for a meal. o.O Half a bagel with peanut butter on it = great lunch for me. (I never eat much during the day, for some reason I can't hold much food except at dinner time) Incidentally Dave makes really awesome homemade bagels, way better than store bought. Link to comment
mst3kjunkie
If bagels are bad, I don't want to be good. Link to comment
Nega-Brent
WTF kind of soup are you people eating? The soup I usually consume only has 90-200 calories. Link to comment
amy
If you cut up a bagel you'll see it's like 4 pieces of bread. It just looks small because it takes up the innocent circular donut form. But bagels are not small. They are huge. It is fine to eat as many calories as a bagel has but bagels are like all carbs (and if they're refined flour it's basically just eating sugar) and something like beans and rice or SOUP is a lot more filling imo and absolutely healthier with more protein and vitamins. I used to eat a lot of bagels and 1 or 2 hours post-bagel I would start to feel really sick. That was the bagel hitting my blood stream! It lasted 1 or 2 hours. Then I would feel better as the bagel was digested. Link to comment
Arcane
Bagels are amazing. I wish I had one right now. Link to comment

J-Stop
They are only bad for you when the bagel guy behind the counter is having a bad day and decides to go in the back and stick his dick in your bagel, then watches from across the room as you eat it. I think what I'm trying to say here is that you probably shouldn't buy bagels if I'm running the joint. Link to comment

There's a lot of egg in a bagel. Yes, they are like about 4 pieces of bread, but that's not a horrible thing. If you started to feel sick after eating a bagel you may be borderline diabetic, or allergic to wheat Link to comment
amy
They're not that high in protein. Beans and rice are very high and they're cheap and you can eat them as a staple food. ...Vampy I think you are blaming me when it is the bagel's fault. People are just not built to eat 4 pieces of white bread and that's all for a meal. It would make anyone's blood sugar go crazy. Link to comment
No Sad Endings
*I* don't feel sick after eating a bagel. And I *am* allergic to wheat. SO THERE Link to comment
mst3kjunkie
bagels are present in the midwest, amy. Link to comment
amy
Are bagels in the midwest like hamburgers in the east? We don't eat hamburgers that often. People just don't run into hamburgers here. But we do run into bagels. Link to comment
mst3kjunkie
well, as for MN and IN, I can say we have bagels. For all I know, SD could be some barren wasteland with no bagels. Link to comment
No Sad Endings
Wait what I live in the east and we have hamburgers everywhere I think Amy just lives on an alien planet K. the low down is, between regular loaf bread and a bagel the bagel is the healthier choice Link to comment

amy
Hamburgers are pretty healthy! Especially if they are good quality. What I'm saying is you can make a very healthy hamburger. But it's very hard to make a healthy bagel. Link to comment
