I know we all hate big corporations in general :awesome:

But are there any whose capitalistic seduction has worked on you? Where it's ok if they drive out all the competition because THEY'RE THE BEST??

MINE ARE:

- Dunkin Donuts

- Big Bear grocery store

There's this big local coffee shop called Spot around here. When I walk around that area with my friend Laura we always get Starbucks then walk into Spot with the cups. :headbang:

No man, Starbucks is gross. Support your local businesses and fuck those multinational assholes.

Gloria Jeans. Starbucks tastes so plain compared to them.

The Hello Kitty store! It doesn't really have any competition though. << >>

There's a few clothing stores I like (Vans, Pacific Sunwear, Hot Topic<-They have cute shirts! Bite me!), mainly because it's so much easier to know what size and how it will hold up when you've bought other things from there.

I buy all my work clothes from Penneys, because they're work clothes and I get a discount when buying them from work.

Borders. Because they were across the mall for years and then Barnes & Noble moved into the mall and I just think that's crappy of them.

And Nintendo. XD I went to Sony for a while, because of drinking a little too much and deciding the PSP was the most awesome handheld ever and I had to buy it, but I ended up much happier with my DS

that is cold and heartless and evil and a shame that I never thought of it

Timmy Ho's. If I'm buying coffee and donuts, its either from a local place (probably Paula's) or its from Timmy Ho's.

Kind of Barnes&Nobles, more because of location and habit, though in the summer I do sometimes venture out into the remote areas of suburbia where the borders is. Its a longer ride in and of itself, but I can easily do the B&N ride and circle it back towards downtown.

Nike. Not because I like ths sneakers or the company, because the Shoe God commands it. I'm serious. I know a shoe god, and he uses Nike. I shall not question Dave the Shoe God.

Trek bikes. I have no clue why I am still loyal to them. The local Trek dealer is good, but too expensive, big and slow. When one of the owners takes my bike, it comes back working perfectly and does not break in any way for months. When it's not one of the owners, I'm taking my chances. The bike shop downtown is better (and cheaper and quicker), but I'm just too lazy to take my bike down there.

Not really a brand but I'm sorta fond of FYE even though I can't find most of what I listen to and expensive. Label wise I love The End because it's got awesome Avant-Garde bands AND a cheap mail order with a great selection. Also fond of Plastichead for their awesome selection of shirts and apparel.

And yeah. Something about screwing with Spot Coffee is amusing. I'm so devilish. :awesome:
