DreamerGirl
I use to use this stuff by Bath & Body that had white(or green, it was some type of tea >_<) that worked really well but they stopped making it like a year ago. The fact that I'm sleeping funny (or not at all.) or dieting has made me have circles under my eyes though, and I need a new way to get rid of them. Ideas?! I can't be the only one who suffers from this, given the amount of insomniacs on AE. Link to comment

Seriously, my mom had an intervention to tell me to stop doing drugs. And I'm not. Thanks Amy. I've been trying that already though. XD Link to comment

I have the same prob, redness / circle around and under my eyes. It's mixture of wearing contacts, a heavy lack of sleep, constant weight-lifting, and smoking nugs. Link to comment

J-Stop
Supposedly the old myth of putting hemorrhoid cream under them works, but I don't know how you'd feel with ass cream on your face. It's supposed to sting like hell too. Don't let it bother you too much, though. Not like the face is the first place men look at when meeting women. :awesome: Link to comment
Makil
Yea the hemorrhoid cream thing is used by models and the fashion industry so if it works for them I'd say go for it! Link to comment

I can't be the only one who suffers from this, given the amount of insomniacs on AE. Nothing completely gets rid of mine, I have permanently puffy eyes from sinus and allergy problems. ;o; But here's a couple of things that work really well for puffy eyes and puffiness in general - Grapeseed oil is very good as a moisturizer that also tones the face - make sure you get cold pressed, not solvent extracted. Peppermint oil is an EXTREMELY effective anti-inflamatory, however, it's also strong as hell and will burn your eyes out if you don't heavily dilute it. I make a homemade toner out of 6 oz of water, 2 drops peppermint oil, 2 drops tea-tree oil, and 2 drops eucalyptus oil. I am able to put this directly on my eyelids without burning, but some are more sensitive than others so if you try this use caution. It's also good to mix essential oils with moisturizer or olive/grapeseed/other oils. Lavender and chamomile are both good for puffy and sensitive skin. Steaming your face with chamomile tea will help (as well as helping stuff like blotchy skin or acne or other irritations,) and the tea bags make great compresses for your eyes. Of course, cucumber slices or cucumber puree applied around the eyes and left for a few minutes is good - make sure they're chilled for better effect. And of course, plain ol' ice compresses are always helpful. Put the ice in a cloth or paper towel, as putting ice directly on the skin can damage it. Link to comment

It did help, but I've found there are other methods that work a whole lot better (like the ones I listed above.) Link to comment

Dumb question time- How exactly do you steam your face? I think we have some chamomile tea.... And I'm going to pick up the Neutragena stuff tomorrow hopefully if Walgreens has it. And Vampy, where do you get all your essential oils? I used to know a place that did them mail order, but that's it. And yeah, I lack the guts to go buy hemorrhoid cream. >_< Geesh, contacts and allergies cause them too? I'm surprised I haven't had any problems till this year. @.@ Don't let it bother you too much, though. Not like the face is the first place men look at when meeting women. What makes you think I'm interested in men anyways? Link to comment
darkon
The above post demonstrates why I feel AE's tagline should be "Where women who don't like men go to mock sexually-repressed nerds." Link to comment
Pamuya
any health food store should have oils for that, alicia or, just put wet teabags over your eyes for awhile. Link to comment

winterlong
Yeah, as mentioned above, cucumber slices do work quite well. Not always though, but seriously, they make my eyes feel wonderful and awake and lovely. Link to comment

No Sad Endings
Dumb question time- How exactly do you steam your face? I think we have some chamomile tea.... Easy, just brew the tea with 2 or 3 teabags in a medium sized bowl, stick your face over it and cover your head with a towel to keep the steam in. And Vampy, where do you get all your essential oils? I used to know a place that did them mail order, but that's it. They're pretty easy to find on the internet, and a lot of grocery stores and drug stores carry some of the most popular kinds of oil - though they're usually pretty expensive in grocery stores. I usually get mine at a local little health food store, they carry the Health Now brand which is really cheap. (Although I've heard it's better not to buy really cheap essential oils because of impurities, but I am dubious of this claim. If it says steam distilled or cold pressed I figure it oughta be fine...) Link to comment
