Gundampilotspaz
So I'm thinking of taking a month off from work, up to the end the school year which is May 7th. The reason being that I'm so sick and tired of being tired at the end of the week and having to spend my weekends recouping instead of doing something productive. Also, because of the schedule I work 20 hours a week and attend classes 20 hours a week, if you pile homework and projects on top of it I begin to have to make sacrifices. Sacrifices where are becoming less and less fun activities and more school related activities. I know if take the month off I can do much better on my assignments and study more effectively. And after it's all over I can make up the time I missed once I start working full time again easily.. blarg blarg Link to comment
Svenska Aeroplan
Try working 40+ hours a week and going to school 20 hours a week! Quit work if you don't need the money. I would have if I had been able too. I had absolutely zero fun for a year and a half. It suuuuuucked. Link to comment

J-Stop
Finishing school doesn't always guarantee a much better job later in life. Work will always net you money, but won't guarantee a better pay check later in life. Pick your poison. Link to comment
Anime Gee
If it's within your possibilities to quit work, you should do that. School is much more important at your age. If you can't quit work, try to balance it out. You might have to take less classes or cut more hours out of work. This is where it becomes really tricky. You have to ask yourself, "Do I want to cut my work hours & have less money or do I want to cut my school & take longer to finish, hmmmmmm?" ('_' ) ? My personal choice would be quiting work, because if you dont, you will spend more time finishing school & you'll be at a point where you're not doing good in work or school. Not only that, you'll be stuck in that position for a LONG time. School is much better, but when you finally do graduate & get that career going, you have to ask yourself, "Do I want to be like the Anime Gee & work 16 hour days on occasion, hmmmmm?" ( '_') ? Chances are that you'll be doing a lot of hours. Hahaha! ( ^o^) <3 Link to comment
Siendra
I work somewhere between 50 - 70 hours most weeks, and spend about 10 hours either in class or working on something for class. I hear you. If this wasn't a total scholarship gig, and I really didn't care about the courses, I would do the same. Basically: Do it. Link to comment

Gundampilotspaz
Take time off. Your canadian english confused me, I thought you meant to quit school and just work. So you don't care about your classes, but if you did you'd stop working? Got it. Link to comment
DreamerGirl
It sounds to me like you have the resources to take time off of work, so I'd say go ahead and take it. I'm curious as to whether or not you pay for your school though. O_o If so how can you afford to do it? Link to comment

DreamerGirl
I only pay for my books. Scholarships? Grants? Parents? All of the above? I'm always trying to find a way to get out of the extra bit left I need to cover. :whistling: Link to comment

Adam
I think your best bet is to tough it out until may 7th, in the end, it'll all work out, and you can be in a coma for a few months. Link to comment

My school charges 20K a year before my financial aide and scholarships come into play. >_< Sit down and apply for every singe scholarship available. Even if you aren't technically applicable. Generally, if you're the only person, or just the most qualified person out of a pool or really unqualified people, you'll get the scholarship anyway. On of my old teachers did this, and it netted her about $8000 a year. Link to comment
