Courtney Love to sell Kurt Cobain's things-

NEW YORK (AP) -- Courtney Love, widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, says she plans to sell most of his belongings.

"I'm going to have a Christie's auction," Love, 42, tells AOL music Web site Spinner.com. "(My house) is like a mausoleum."

Love and Cobain wed in 1992 and had a daughter, Frances Bean, that year. Cobain committed suicide in 1994.

"My daughter doesn't need to inherit a giant ... bag full of flannel ... shirts," says Love, former frontwoman of the rock band Hole. "A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to '(Smells Like) Teen Spirit' -- that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just ... sell."

No date has been set for the auction, AOL publicist Kurt Patat told The Associated Press on Monday. AOL is owned by Time Warner, CNN.com's parent company.

Love, whose upcoming album is titled, "Nobody's Daughter," says friends support the idea.

"Everyone's been positive and behind me on it," she says. "We'll make a lot of money and give a bunch of it to charity."

She'll have a chance to move on from Cobain, too.

"I still wear his pajamas to bed. How am I ever going to go form another relationship in my lifetime wearing Kurt's pajamas?"

Really, though, it's a good money making idea. There are people out there, wealthy people, with crappy taste in music who will pay an arm and a leg for his stuff, and they don't need it.

granted, i hate courtney love, this doesn't really add to it. it would be nice if some stuff went to some sort of museum or something... i'd just hate to see some of Kurt's stuff end up on e-bay.

Selling his stuff seems kinda disrespectful, I mean if I were her I'd put it into storage or something. I don't think if you really love someone you could just sell their things like that. I mean moving on is one thing but capitalizing on something like this just seems disrespectful.

Brian I don't like the music but saying a band sucks doesn't mean you're saying it just because you don't like the music and is not being small minded at all. I personally like many different forms of music not just metal. I like listening to talented musicians and it is very easy to argue that Nirvana were very very very far from a talented band and they did indeed "suck" because of this. Also Brian if you would like to argue over this (I mean this in a friendly way oh how I love a good debate) about how talent is based on opinion etc take it to SDnD. :D

On the topic at hand. I whole heartedly agree that love is being a bitch. Shouldn't it be up to the daughter what she wants to get rid of it's her inheritance.
