darkon
This is the topic I've waited my entire life to make. On May 25, 1977 the most important film of my life was released. About 13-14 years later I would become introduced to the Star Wars saga and haven't looked back. So let's give our birthday wishes to what many of us love almost as much as a family member. Fun fact: George Lucas started filming Star Wars exactly 12 years to the day before I was born. :awesome: Link to comment

Samurai Drifter
Oh man, my friends and I practically worshipped these movies in elementary school. We were like the cult of Star Wars. At least once a month we'd have a sleep over at my house where we all crammed into my family room to watch all 3 movies in a row. I have a picture in my elementary school yearbook from our "collection fair" (most kids would show baseball cards or beanie babies) of me showing off my Star Wars collection of action figures, statues, and books. Happy birthday, Star Wars. May the force be with you all. Fun fact: George Lucas didn't create Star Wars. It was actually based off of an out-of-print sci-fi book series he bought the rights to called the "Skywalker Saga." Link to comment

Sadly, nothing but word-of-mouth from someone my dad knew (before the movies came out, apparently) that had read the books. I've tried to do more research, but the books were pretty damn old, and any internet search (including the Library of Congress' web catalog) for anything related to "Skywalker" invariably brings up millions of Star Wars movie results.
