CTL is kool
What is the deal? Why is it every few months it becomes Accelerated-Extinction and then resurfaces? Can anyone explain this to me? Thank you on behalf of all of us that matter. CTL Link to comment
Arcane
Whaddaya mean? The forum database crashed a couple months ago so everything had to be restarted... other than that it's always seemed like there has been a moderate amount of activity here at any given time. Link to comment

The forum database crashed a couple months ago so everything had to be restarted... other than that it's always seemed like there has always been a moderate amount of activity here at any given time. Not activity per se, and maybe I have had too much scotch over my 33 years, but there have been several times where it appeared to me as a result of a lack of funding, retardation, and general malaize that the forum went down for periods of time. Well.. there was one time where I believe the site was being moved to another hosting company and so it was down for awhile because the DNS servers were taking a long ass time to update. Then there was the time when the Invision Power Board people found out that the forum software being used here was illegally pirated, so I think the site may have been down for a short time while the admins were trying to get money together to pay the IPB people who were kind enough to not sue their asses. And then there was the database crash where the entire forum had to be restarted. Those are all the extended down times that I can really think up. Link to comment

Svenska Aeroplan
The forum does seem to stagnate sometimes. It must be bacause I don't frequent Random Thoughts. Link to comment

Yeah, it does suck up a TON of activity from the rest of the board. But, I guess the frequent posters prefer to just keep discussion in there. I tried to stop it once, as well as Wind and Hero, and we had a Civil War that was none too pleasant. Link to comment
Galkar
I generally avoid RT, as it updates FAR too often for me to keep up, but if a mojority of discussion happens there, perhaps I should start posting there... Link to comment

thebornotaku
we were clear for about 10 months, then we got caught pirating, so we had a few donators buy IPB, then that was down for a few hours, after that we transferred to JClay webhosting, which didn't take too long, but recently the mySQL databases got fucked and a reformat and reinstall was in order. When I get home from work, I am way too tired to read everything that happened in the 10 hours I've been away from the computer. I don't even go into the RT thread ... ever. Link to comment
Mithrandir
It's not like you have to read what you've missed in the thread. You just post your random thoughts... Link to comment

I would post my random thoughts if there weren't always a conversation going on. I feel like an idiot posting random garbage in the middle of something. Link to comment
Ceraziefish
Exactly, I never go to RT for the above reasons. I feel like I'm missing out on part of the experience, but whatever. Link to comment

Arcane
I pretty much have the same feeling as several other people here about the Random Thoughts threads. The main reason I don't like it is because there are so many discussions that go on in there that would make good threads that everyone could see and participate in. Half of the forum doesn't visit random thoughts because it moves so fast and is so, well, random, and so a lot of potential conversations cease to ever exist. Link to comment

Yeah, it sure would be crazy for someone who felt that way to just make a thread based on the discussion. Man that'd be wacky, for someone to take iniative. Link to comment
CTL is kool
Peasants: I disappear sometimes, quite frankly, because I have a life that exists outside of the interent. To that end, sometimes I don't have time for these shenanigans. And yes, my cock is the finest cock on the planet. Link to comment
