Scarface
I'm only posting this because... A. I know this guy B. Police are fucking horrible people C. This isn't right at all. http://www.gainesvillesun.com/article/2007...17016/1002/NEWS In this article, a 21 year old male by the name of Andrew Meyer was at a speech by John Kerry. Before the speech, I was at his house and he mentioned how he was going to ask Sen. Kerry a series of controversial questions. Regarding the issue of whether or not, the last few elections have been doctored / rigged and what have you. There is a video in the link. Tell me what you think. Does it seem that he was trying to harm anyone? Self defense my ass, that was uncalled for. I do not know what I can do, since I was not at the scene when it happened, but after watching the video, I am in full support of my friend. I was just at this guys house for his B-day party on Saturday. This is insane! Link to comment
The Lone Magician
What in the seven Hells is wrong with those police? Disgusting. Link to comment
Chris
I love how Kerry actually addressed the question, but they arrested him anyway. Unnecessary is an understatement. Link to comment
Artie
I love how Kerry actually addressed the question, but they arrested him anyway. Unnecessary is an understatement. yea man, that was just stupid of them. You'd think tackling him would be enough to get your point across. Link to comment
ROCKSTEADY
Police state is police state. Link to comment
Samurai Drifter
Wait a sec. What in the hell did he do to get arrested? How could that even be justified? How long has it been since someone actually read the goddamn constitution?! I hope the UFPD pays a really hefty fine after losing the lawsuit this guy should bring against them. I hope people are outside their headquarters protesting. I hope this is on the national news. I think that the arrest was uncalled for, not the tasering. Then again, he was resisting because he was being arrested for no reason. Link to comment
Ceraziefish
I hope the UFPD pays a really hefty fine after losing the lawsuit this guy should bring against them. ...That's really all you're hoping for? I hope everyone working for the UFPD is fired and the entire organization is restructured. How the hell could you allow something like that? Link to comment
Samurai Drifter
Hell, if I was nearby I'd have half a mind to burn their offices to the ground just to make a point. Link to comment
Scarface
That's great. Meyer is in Wikipedia, and on the front of a lot of news pages. AOL, and the Miami Herald to name a few. Link to comment
darkon
My friend just showed this to me, it's ridiculous. The police have absolutely no right to arrest him in the first place, given it wasn't the best decision of him to resist arrest (if the cops want to arrest you, they will). At the end of the day though, the UFPD should take some serious penalties. Link to comment
Scarface
Quoted from another site. "Supreme courts in various states have ruled that anybody has the right to resist an unlawful arrest, even if it is made by a peace officer." Now why didn't I know that? Link to comment

J-Stop
Two sides to every story. The taser was unnecessary but hauling him out after he resists and yells countless times on the top of his lungs after being such a dick wasn't. Link to comment
margot
have you seen the youtube video? it grossed me out how the other kids in the auditorium were laughing/cheering. Link to comment
GummyBearOfDoom
have you seen the youtube video? it grossed me out how the other kids in the auditorium were laughing/cheering. I think they were first cheering because he was getting pissed and resisting arrest and screaming. But it could be me. I would have punched one of them in the fucking face. But I'm a thick headed Italian. Link to comment
J-Stop
Further proof that Meyer is just a big fucking attention whore who got what he deserved. Link to comment
J-Stop
It's easy for them to lie about him not resisting arrest when cameras were not present, too. I think it's fucked. Hell, I think Tasers in general shouldn't be used, let alone against a dude asking questions. It is, but that doesn't seem like it considering he pulls the same stunt in the second video. Where he's calm and collective until he sees the camera down the hall and spazes the fuck out while uttering completely stupid shit. They didn't taser him for asking questions. They tasered him for repeatedly resisting arrest. The officer even warns him if he didn't stop that he'd taser him. Link to comment

darkon
No, I'd rather the fucking 5 officers or whatever it was hold down the average sized 21 year old until he calmed down. That is brutality. But they're fat and out-of-shape! Cut them some slack. Link to comment

J-Stop
All they had to do was restrain him until things calmed down. He wasn't calm even after being tasered. Link to comment
