Ceraziefish
So. I really like the idea of zombie movies, but I've never really gone into the sub-genre beyond watching Shaun of the Dead several times. What I'm asking is for a sort of 'Required Watching' list for the sub-genre, meaning the best/most influential movies. Link to comment
uniform_motion
I Drink Your Blood is a well made, funny, and interesting, zombie B-Movie. I would reccomend watching this one with some friends, because it's just awesome. Link to comment
Battle_Pope
I would recommend Brain Dead, a zombie b-movie directed by Peter Jackson. Link to comment
darkon
I would recommend Brain Dead, a zombie b-movie directed by Peter Jackson. This also has the title Dead Alive... it's like known by two titles. And you have to check out The Evil Dead. Link to comment
Battle_Pope
and just for the hell of it Bad Taste, even though it's about human eating aliens. Link to comment
uniform_motion
The Evil Dead II Army of Darkness The Evil Dead Watch in that order... Link to comment
Battle_Pope
even though it doesn't go along with other zombie films, I suggest The Serpent and the Rainbow. They create a medicine called Zombinol. Link to comment
Elitist Indie Hipster
Not really influential, but 28 Days Later is a great movie. Link to comment
HappyLittleBoozer
Step aside, boys and girls! This is the comprehensive list of zombie watching material... Night of the Living Dead Dawn of the Dead (original and the remake) Day of the Dead Land of the Dead Return of the Living Dead (not affiliated with the Romero series) The Serpent and the Rainbow Evil Dead Evil Dead II Army of Darkness Shaun of the Dead Zombi 2 Brain Dead/Dead Alive Undead Tombs of the Blind Dead The Gates of Hell This is just off the top of my head. I'll probably think of something later. 28 Days Later is not a zombie film, as the 'monsters' in it aren't dead. Link to comment

Elitist Indie Hipster
Ok, well i guess that would fit into the holocaust genre, which in my opinion is another great genre. Anyone have any movie recommendations for that? Link to comment
Ceraziefish
Mad Max. Duh. Link to comment

Akito
I may be kind of late here, but the original Dawn of the Dead still holds up as the best zombie movie ever made. I highly recommend it. Link to comment
Oerlikon
If you want real hardcore Zombie movies, you need to watch Lucio Fulci's and Umberto Lenzi's zombie movies from the early '80's. Nobody does zombies like these guys!.... Link to comment
Excel
DEAD AND BREAKFAST. Kinda mediocre, but hey, I liked some of the gags. Link to comment
GummyBearOfDoom
I didn't think it was great, maybe "ok" at best. Yea it was alright. They didn't have much money to work with. It was an indie film right? Link to comment
