Samurai Drifter
"It takes more faith to be an atheist than it does to believe in god." Uh... not quite true. However, both atheism and theism do require leaps of faith. Luckily there's a belief known as "agnosticism" which simply means that you don't know! :D Also, the likening of evolution to the coke can is rather twisted, as it doesn't count the very basis of Darwin's theory: natural selection. The thing with the banana was amusing, because for every one thing that appears to be "perfectly made for human hands", I see a million things that aren't. Pineapples aren't shaped for easy grabbing. amy
Agnosticism is soo wimpy, I think it's pretty clear there is no god. Link to comment
thebornotaku
i watched 30 seconds and stopped. religion is a joke to me, i mean, it's like "BELIEVE IN THIS ALTHOUGH WE HAVE NO HARD EVIDENCE!". hell, i should make a religion. and it should have both feet firmly planted in reality. Samurai Drifter
Agnosticism is soo wimpy, I think it's pretty clear there is no god. Ah, but to say there is no god when there's no proof either way is a leap of faith. Not as much of one as Christianity (i.e. not only stating that there is a god, but attributing various events and personality traits to him), but it's still a belief that can't be proven. Thus, the only logical position to me is agnosticism. Link to comment

You can't prove there isn't a god (or gods) any more than you can prove their is a god with our current limits of understanding. Link to comment
amy
at least there's no god that is interested in humans Agnosticism seems just "I want to believe in god but my friends might laugh and my science teacher would hate mee" the whole idea is so blahhh, I think the human spirit is where it's really at, if you look from that standpoint everything is interesting. Belial
Most atheists I know are pretty stupid. Most religious conservatives I know are pretty stupid too. Its a lose lose situation. Link to comment
Arcane
Most atheists I know are pretty stupid. Most religious conservatives I know are pretty stupid too. Its a lose lose situation. Exactly. Where as most agnostics at least have an open mind. at least there's no god that is interested in humans Agnosticism seems just "I want to believe in god but my friends might laugh and my science teacher would hate mee" the whole idea is so blahhh, I think the human spirit is where it's really at, if you look from that standpoint everything is interesting. There could be a god that's interested in humans. Maybe he really likes fucking around with us. To me, agnosticism is pretty much keeping an open mind about things. Link to comment
amy
hey, potatoes could be people in disguise! maybe they really like fucking around with us. I'm going to tell the world that on this issue, I am neither here nor there. *monacle* Link to comment

Makil
Wait wait wait. He said you have to ignore the "facts" when you're an athiest. What facts are we ignoring? Once again, where was I when they proved God exists? Link to comment

TeleportSandwich
Christianity is dangerous and destructive... And it's not just the extremists because horrible things are in the bible itself. fixed. Cuz, you know, Buddism really never hurt anybody (that I know of). Link to comment
thebornotaku
fixed. Cuz, you know, Buddism really never hurt anybody (that I know of). indeed. alot of american religions are pretty stupid. Buddhism, stuff like that makes much more sense, because it isn't as much "There is a god and this dude who was nailed to the cross" as it is philosophical. Link to comment
amy
i can't believe I'm actually watching this, but the guy's trying to argue that since bananas open so perfectly, they must have been made for humans by god xD what did they pay absolutely NO attention in bio Link to comment
