MGMT isn't actually very good. I haven't met anyone who likes any of the other songs on their album besides Time To Pretend, Electric Feel and Kids. If you hear those three songs, that's all you need.

That's a pretty solid list, though I'd like to submit The Faceless' Planetary Duality. I thought it kicked Akeldama's ass up and down and Akeldama was a decent album. As well as Meshuggah's obZen. Eight string polyrhythmic domination over nine tracks. Can't really think of any others people didn't mention, but I'm also pretty tired and was deprived of new music for the last two months or so. Also I know Meshuggah and The Faceless might not be some people's cup of tea or whatever. :awesome:

Board up the House is sick. when i first heard it i was afraid the mellow electronic parts wouldn't translate well to their live show, but they TOTALLY do

The Bon Iver was self-released in 2007 and released officially in 2008. It's won awards for best album of 2008. It's both an '07 and an '08 album, in a way.

Anyway, listening to Board Up the House. Wow. Awesomeness.

Ya... that Torche album IS fuckin fantastic. I'm not usually into grimy music like that, but I did love it. Their S/T was better though.

I consulted Itunes on my favorite songs of 2008 (based on most played). Top 10:

And i must say, Floor (the guitarist and vocalists earlier project), is better then torche i think. I think its too bad that alot of bands get progressively more boring.
