FaultyClockwork
I'm trying to track my listening so I know where I'm at. I figure I could use the thread. winterlong
MGMT isn't actually very good. I haven't met anyone who likes any of the other songs on their album besides Time To Pretend, Electric Feel and Kids. If you hear those three songs, that's all you need. You NEED to check out: Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago You have to. Link to comment
FaultyClockwork
Yes ma'am. I listened to that Tiamat album again today. Well, as much of it as I can stand. Bitches need to stop making music. Link to comment
Alundra
I second the Fleet Foxes and TV On The Radio albums, incredible works. Link to comment
winterlong
Faulty, I uploaded Bon Iver to the music blog. Link to comment
The Masterplan
That's a pretty solid list, though I'd like to submit The Faceless' Planetary Duality. I thought it kicked Akeldama's ass up and down and Akeldama was a decent album. As well as Meshuggah's obZen. Eight string polyrhythmic domination over nine tracks. Can't really think of any others people didn't mention, but I'm also pretty tired and was deprived of new music for the last two months or so. Also I know Meshuggah and The Faceless might not be some people's cup of tea or whatever. :awesome: Link to comment
PMA
Wasn't that Bon Iver album from 07? Link to comment
ROCKSTEADY
I don't understand why every one loves board up the house so much, Laser bitch was way better. Link to comment
Tanni Foemangler
Board up the House is sick. when i first heard it i was afraid the mellow electronic parts wouldn't translate well to their live show, but they TOTALLY do Link to comment
ROCKSTEADY
i think thats why they toned it down on that one, because i heard that there earlier live shows were pretty sloppy. Link to comment
FaultyClockwork
The Bon Iver was self-released in 2007 and released officially in 2008. It's won awards for best album of 2008. It's both an '07 and an '08 album, in a way. Anyway, listening to Board Up the House. Wow. Awesomeness. Link to comment
ROCKSTEADY
i want to know why no one has mentioned Torche - Meandrethal I saw them on that tour (with boris) and they were REALLLLLLLYYYYY GOOOOOOOODDDD. The album is superb as well Link to comment
Tanni Foemangler
i think thats why they toned it down on that one, because i heard that there earlier live shows were pretty sloppy. you heard wrong. they were rad as all hell when i saw them before Board up the House came out Link to comment
PMA
Ya... that Torche album IS fuckin fantastic. I'm not usually into grimy music like that, but I did love it. Their S/T was better though. I consulted Itunes on my favorite songs of 2008 (based on most played). Top 10: 1. Chumbawamba - Word Bomber 2. Chumbawamba - Sing About Love 3. Slug's Revenge - Prison Song 4. Murder by Death - Comin Home 5. Tyr - Brennivin 6. Chumbawamba - Word Can Save Us 7. In Flames - The Mirror's Truth 8. Deadlock - Slaughter's Palace 9. Equilibrium - Blut Im Auge 10. Number 9 - Drop Tap Sequence A unexpected list to say the least. But it's true... I love the HELL out of those 10 songs. Link to comment
ROCKSTEADY
Their S/T was better though. TRUTH! Tarpit carnivore? Come on, that shit was heavy as fuck!' And i must say, Floor (the guitarist and vocalists earlier project), is better then torche i think. I think its too bad that alot of bands get progressively more boring. Link to comment
