Elitist Indie Hipster
Alright i am going on a road trip to my uncles house, which is 13 hours away. I have never driven by myself , and i am bringing my Ipod. I need a pretty solid lineup of bands that wont bore me to death that would be good for a roadtrip. I love "indie music" shit like bss or the thermals and that stuff, dont like harcore punk or country. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand go!! Link to comment

Elitist Indie Hipster
I love driving around and listening to Captain Beefheart. For some reason this made me think of Canned Heat - on the road again, which is indeed a kickass traveling song. Link to comment

noodle
wowzers, long drive. i'm a fan of driving to grandaddy and boards of canada, but i don't really recommend them for really long drives (soothing sounds can be dangerous if you're tired). i'd probably just end up putting all music on shuffle and just change when necessary. Belial
I'd just grab a bunch of different albums. 13 hours is a lot of fucking time, so I'd probably grab around 20-30 albums and look forward to respinning a couple if the mood suites. Definitely need a good mix of old an new stuff too; albums to sing/howl along with, and albums to just veg out to and take in the countryside. Having done some driving in Canada myself, I can only assume the majority of your 13 hours is going to be pretty fucking flat-ass uneventful, so best of luck to you. Link to comment
Cip
You should probably listen to Modest Mouse's "This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About" if you like "indie" music I'm sure you've already been acquainted with the album. Cymbals Eat Guitars is a really new band I've been into and find amazing, their music is very raw and serves as a breath of fresh air. Their Pitchfork review actually compares the album to a road trip. Link to comment

Just 13 hours is a long drive so i need something to keep me awak and alert, so yeah rush should do just fine i think. Link to comment

ROCKSTEADY
Flood is pretty easy going kinda post-rocky with some doom, Feedbacker is straight up NOISE-POWER-ELeCTRONICS-DOOM. And there first album (absoleutego) Is Noise with some Heavy stoner riffs, i listened to it on repeat when i was driving through North Dakota, It was pretty epic on the plains. The Boris will probably keep you up, its the MONO that will probably put you to sleep. Link to comment
