Question about The Legend of the Seeker TV show?!?

Recommended Posts

From what I've seen of it it is very different to the books. Nothing gory or very dark like that happens. It is like someone decided to make a kid-friendly version of the books and iron out anything dark and controversial that is in them.

Yeah, it looked like a watered down version of the books to me. I just heard the names of the characters and I couldn't think for the life of me what the name of the book series was. I am going to have to read them again. I don't even really remember the plot from the book. Been over 10 years or something since I've read it. Alot of different stories have gone through my brain. And alot of drugs. Lol.

Yeah the books are bloody fantastic. Quite a good few of them though so I dunno' if I would ever be able to read the series twice. And yeah, I hear drugs have a way with a person's memory :P

i remember most everything, just in a jumbled order. i dont know, im ready to get down on a time- consuming series, i dont have much else besides work and studying computer programming to do.

Sounds like the perfect thing to do then. And I don't think I remember everything despite my not having done loads of drugs so maybe they aided your memory :P

It sucks but these days I find I have too much going on to be able to read a -single- book let alone a fucking epic series like that... One day I'll get round to doing some more serious reading though as it was pretty much my first love and I used to spend all my time doing it.

Right, I can understand that as reading was my passion for the longest time as well. I was dedicating all my free time to partying for the longest time, so now that I am trying to calm down and live a "normal" life where I can acquire some things instead of blowing all my extra money, I think that it is the perfect time to get back into it. Reading doesn't cost a thing if you go to the library. Lol.

I'm not sure if I would call the series "epic."

Sure, the first 2...3? books were good overall, after that the books go into a preachy downfall by Goodkind. I tried to read the whole series, but it got old fast. Richard is too good, which makes him boring. Kahlan is a whore. Past those two characters...who else is worth caring about?

Also, I haven't read them, but form what I have been told, the SoT books are watered down versions of the Wheel of Time series.

I don't know whether or not the two series have any correlation. Maybe someone else does??? I don't remember whether I finished the series or not, how many books were in it or even the overall plot for the most part. I had a vague recollection of the names of the characters. I dont know, I will soon find out if it was worth my time to read the series....

No, the two series are not connected. And it's all a matter of opinion. I've heard people say that the Wheel of Time series is better but also heard others say the Sword of Truth series is better.

Also, definitely join goodreads dude. I'm on there too: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1735191

Alright guys I didn't have much time to mess around with the goodreads site yet because I am at lunch at work and I have to go get some stuff to eat but I am:
