And in other news...

Alex Lifeson of Rush reported earlier this year that the band may get together Autumn of 2009 to work on an upcoming release. Nick Raskulinecz is believed to once again produce the upcoming release.

It shouldn't be hard to guess that Dir en grey and MUCC will have new releases, whether it is in the form of a new single or album. It's just a matter of when they will be released.

Deftones are putting the Eros album to the side and are focusing more on the tentative album release with the new bassist, Sergio Vega. The Eros album might be released later on.

Symphony X signs with Nuclear Blast Records. Says the label: Symphony X exemplifies the technical sophistication of progressive metal while transcending the genre by writing amazing songs with masterful musicality and great hooks! The band is currently creating their next album and expects a Spring 2010 release date.

The original line-up to Killing Joke are back together, singing up with Spinefarm Records. The band also expects a Spring 2010 release with their 13th studio album.

Blind Guardian are entering into production mode for the upcoming 9th album. The band is working on 11 songs and are also expecting a Spring 2010 release.

Armored Saint is expecting a March 2010 release with their new album, La Raza. It is said that this record will be recorded analog rather than digital, giving it a nice and natural sound.

Angra are currently working on material for their next studio album, to be released in 2010. According to the vocalists, Eduardo Falaschi, there are more than ten songs already in the process.

Kenneth Joseph Spaziani, Connecticut native and friend of the writer, will release the third Galexia album titled Narcotize. The album is said to be more progressive than the previous releases with songs featuring industrial and ambient sounds.
