Minimum wage isn't always considered a good thing though. Minimum wage laws actually create more unemployment. Link to comment

amy
Err, they were paying the equivalent for a while, hence minimum wage laws enacted Link to comment
Belial
Minimum wage isn't always considered a good thing though. Minimum wage laws actually create more unemployment. But the Unemployment is minimal at best. Companies still need workers. A minimum wage raise might do a little bit of damage in a stagnent economy such as ours, but when the economy is strong, a high minimum wage should help the economy, since more people will have more money to spend on more goods/services. Trickle down economics has never worked, you have to start at the very bottom and work your way up. Minimum wage is that bottom. Link to comment

Poophy
Correction to my former post… Federal minim wage over rides the state minimum wage, but the federal minimum wage doesn’t apply to agricultural jobs, the Kansas one might… The federal minimum wage overrides the national minimum wage only if it is higher than the state one… Link to comment
uniform_motion
Kansas is more costly in the Upper-Eastern area. Mostly cause that's where everything is. If you want to move into a house in Lawrence for example, it costs BIG BUCKS. Link to comment
